Learn sustainable plant-based dyeing in Melbourne!

3.5 hours Class size 12 to 40 guests       $130

Join us and the incredible designer and natural dye alchemist Tamara Leacock of REMUSE Design for a richly immersive afternoon exploring the craft and consciousness of sustainable plant-based dyeing. In this 3.5-hour masterclass, you will be guided through traditional and experimental dye methods using botanicals and mineral mordants. Learn how to prepare fabrics, bind and resist with shibori, and coax deep, shifting tones from ingredients like logwood and indigo. Designed for adult learners, fans of sustainability and curious makers, this session invites you to slow down, tune in, and get your hands into the process. Whether you are just starting out or looking to deepen your practise, this class offers practical skills and poetic tools for sustainable making. You will each work with a custom undyed REMUSE scarf and may also bring any natural fibre garment of your own to dye, as well as a great deal of materials to continue your dyeing journey at home. Tamara will also share selected garments from her latest REMUSE collection. These pieces act as living swatches and storytelling tools, with the option to browse or purchase any that sing out to you on the day, with exclusive discounts for workshop participants.
