What you'll do
Looking for unique experience gifts you'll love? Create a perfume from scratch using raw materials at this intensive and practical introduction to perfumery class in Melbourne's buzzing suburb of Fitzroy.
Over three hours, we will introduce you to an array of quality raw materials sourced all over the world, the history of perfumery and discuss how to use the materials. From there, you can design and make your own fragrance with Ainslie's guidance.
The classes are held in Alice Edgely's iconic fashion studio and so you are really thrust in to learn about the world of perfumery and the working perfumer.
Corporate and private workshops are welcome, please contact your teacher below for more info. A bespoke course can be made for any specific requirements.
Plus, the class also includes a cheese platter and pastries and a glass of French champagne on completion.
By the end of the class, you can take home your signature scent, as well as fond memories with your loved ones.

Ainslie Walker Scentsmith is a practising perfumer, product developer and olfactory artist and has been teaching her renowned perfume making workshops in Australia for nine years - based in Sydney, she teaches regularly from her Marrickville studio. She also teaches interstate by appointment and in locations such as The Strand Arcade, and various Boutique hotels such as The Old Clare Hotel in the Sydney CBD.
Her classes are recommended by Broadsheet, The Good Weekend and more.
Her clients include Country Road, Disney, Aje, Glasshouse, Circa Home, The Powerhouse, Two Good Co, Tamara Dean, and Lark Perfumery.
