Description

Unleash your smartphone camera's full potential and develop your photography skills in a fun and practical, hands-on class.

Enjoy a walking tour and hands-on learning experience in the photogenic area of The Rocks and its surrounds. You'll cover iconic Sydney landmarks like the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

You'll be coached to discover and develop your personal creative and artistic style, drawing from your personal background and personality. Additionally, you'll learn about the technical aspects of photography:

- Learn about composition
- Hands on challenges to put theory into practice.
- Control your shutter speed and ISO
- Get constructive one-on-one feedback on your photos, so you keep getting better
- Learn about and practice travel photography (street portraits, architecture, still life, abstract, landscapes, nature)
- Learn to edit easily with your phone, and achieve amazing images

This class is approximately split into 60% learning about shooting, and 40% learning about editing.

For locals, see your city through a new artistic lens. For visitors and tourists, discover some of Sydney's most iconic spots for architecture and scenery.

This class will proceed regardless of the weather as there are indoor areas to use. Suitable for all smartphones (Apple, Samsung and others).

Your Sydney teacher will be either:

Chris L Jones - an advertising, editorial and commercial photographer based in Sydney, Australia. He has worked with a wide range of clients and would describe himself as a lifestyle, people, food, travel and occasional art photographer.

Or Alfonso Calero (see more about him in the profile below)

I learnt so much about the camera features on the smartphone and different ways of editing pictures. So glad I did the class.

I throughly enjoyed this course, Alfonso was great. He covered everything from perspective, lighting and angles. He showed us how to adjust our pictures to achieve the best results. I would highly recommend this course and I will be doing a few more in the future.

I bought this for my father for a gift and he loved it. The instructor, location and class material were all amazing and he hasn't stopped talking about it. Definitely recommend.

Chris was very helpful with iPhone photography but the invitation for the course indicated that it was for camera not iphone. We had 2 Samsung owners and 1 Sony so we were not all on the same page. No instructions at all for camera photography during the course. Location good and lots of opportunities to use Snapseed and learn it.

Teacher did really well considering there were so many different phone types among the participants.
Venue was fun and tip sheet was good except not entirely relevant to my phone.
I did gain some basic knowledge to help on my journey to find out how to take better photos with my smartphone.
Suggest in future that it would be useful to have separate classes for Android/Samsung and iPhone.

This class was beyond expectations. Our guide Chris (who filled in for Alfonso) was fantastic. He was easy to follow and a great combination of what we were doing and how to do it and then actually putting it into practice. Chris made sure that we then knew what we were doing after we had left.
I was surprised with how much I can do with the smartphone (did you know you can make buildings look straight?- to know more do the course!) as well as editing on the go- so quick and fun. Already I am making use of what I have learnt.
It was a practical coarse as well as really lovely wondering around The Rocks and seeing it through a photographers eye.
A great afternoon.
Thank you

One of the best time and money investments I've made in a while! Alfonso is both knowledgable in his trade and great at teaching - a combination that very few people can master. His insights have served me well since the class and the handout he provided is SO helpful! Can't recommend this class enough - if you're thinking about it, do it! You won't regret it!

This course was engaging and lots of fun. Alfonso was a very good teacher and explained things in an easy to understand way.

He set interesting challenges to illustrate his points and we edited photos on site - which was great. He took us to outstanding locations where we practiced what we had learnt.

A thoroughly enjoyable learning experience and I think my photos have really improved as a result.

Alfonso is a consummate professional who's expertise in his field shows through in this class. I'm a qualified trainer and can therefore make for a tough student ... but the way the course was structured and delivered was fun and informative ... which meant we learnt a lot!!! Worth every cent.
