Always wanted to bake your own sourdough but never known where to start? This hands-on class will get you there.
Join Justine (Clinical Nutritionist) for a fun, relaxed afternoon of bread making in Canberra.
Grab some friends and spend three hours learning to make real sourdough from scratch in my warm and homely kitchen, using nothing but everyday equipment you've probably already got at home.
You'll mix and shape your own sourdough loaf, picking up the tips and techniques you need to confidently bake it again and again at home. We'll also dig into the science behind fermentation, so you actually understand what's happening in your starter (and why it matters).
Throughout the class, you'll graze on a gourmet board while we chat through everything from troubleshooting a sluggish starter to keeping it healthy long-term—bring all your questions.
You'll leave with your own 100-year-old French starter to take home and keep alive. On top of the loaf, you'll also make sourdough crackers—perfect for using up starter discard.
A great option for birthdays, hens' parties, or team get-togethers too.
Good to know:
  • In order to bake your loaf the following morning and to make great sourdough on an ongoing basis, we recommend you buy a Dutch oven, which is a cast iron pot with a lid.
  • A minimum of eight guests is needed to run the class; if numbers don't reach that, the date will be rescheduled.

Hi, Im Justine, a clinical nutritionist and mum with a love of good food, gut health and real connection with people.
I'm the founder of Nourishing Love Nutrition, which I established in 2016 from a passion for helping people nourish themselves and their families with real, wholesome food.
For me, food is about so much more than eating, it's about creating, connecting and making foods that are not only delicious but deeply nourishing for the body.
One of my greatest joys is baking sourdough, and I'd love to help you discover just how simple and rewarding it can be. In my workshops, you'll learn to confidently make your own beautiful sourdough using a treasured 100-year-old French sourdough starter, along with simple practical tips to make sourdough fit into your life.
Passing on these traditional skills is something I'm truly passionate about, and I can't wait to help you experience the joy and confidence of baking your own bread from scratch.
