A little glimpse of West Wave Ceramics and me, Susi Koessler, maker and owner of this local small business.

I am driven to produce handmade pieces for the contemporary home, enriching life’s beauty, joy, nourishment and celebration.

My work is made and inspired locally by the Indian Ocean and the lifestyle I am fortunate to experience here on whadjuk noongar boodjar.

Each piece is a one-off, unique design and often has several hours of work behind it. My aim is to enhance the home, live life slow and enliven the spirit with my ceramics.

I bought this class as a gift for my mum and I to do together. Neither of us had done any pottery beforehand, and we both had a wonderful time! Susi was very knowledgeable and helpful and taught us to create multiple pieces, the venue and materials were great. I definitely recommend Susi and this class to others.

I really enjoyed the ceramics class with Susi. She was great at explaining how to do things while allowing us to be creative and explore the clay in our own ways. She was always there to help when I got stuck and needed guidance. The venue was nice and there was enough space for everyone. It was hot, but it’s hot everywhere in Summer! The cost was very reasonable, especially considering I got to make two pieces. I can’t wait to see how they look when they’re glazed and fired. Thank you so much, Susi! I will definitely do another class sometime.

Susi taught us the basics in pottery making and all we needed to know in order to make whatever product we wanted to. She was always willing to help so that we could have the best experience and come out of the class with the steps for going further if we desired.
I would recommend this class if you are looking for an introduction to pottery!

We had sooo much fun in this class! Although seemingly none of us had any talent for pottery, we managed to make a few items under Susi's amazing guidance. Can't wait to see it once it's all done! Was a great way to celebrate our friend's Hens, thanks Susi!

Our first try at hand building ceramics was such a fun experience. Susi was so welcoming and charming, not to mention a very patient and kind teacher. Absolutely loved the class! We got straight into building which was great. Suzie showed us some really good techniques and gave us advice on where to get our own clay and get our pieces fired so we'll be having our own ladies wine and pottery night soon! The platter and drinks were a lovely bonus. Can't wait to see our finished pieces.

I loved the workshop! Susi is extremely nice and helpful :) I had lots of fun with the clay, as well as enjoyed my time just being there. The venue is great, it has a very open and cozy feeling. I would certainly recommend anyone who is interested in the clay hand built to go with this workshop. I felt I have received lots of beautiful values out of it.
