3 hours 5 mins

Class size 1 to 20 (public classes), 12 to 40

  $75 - $85 ($85 per guest when you book for 1 guest, $75/guest for 2+ guests)

Rich in history, and spanning many cultures, the art of tarot has drawn people into its magic for centuries. Arguably one of the most common tools of divination in the world, this craft crosses cultural and spiritual boundaries to create a uniquely personal experience. But as a beginner, a tarot reading can be a steep, confusing learning curve, and we’re here to give you a leg up and demystify the challenges when starting out.

In this 3.5 hour workshop, you’ll get the low down on the classic Rider Waite Smith system of tarot. We’ll start with covering the basics, including symbolism in the images, archetypes, astrology, numerology, helpful tips and tricks, as well as the major and minor arcana before moving on to the process of laying out a reading. After running through the nitty-gritty on the theory side of things, we’ll play some fun little games to put our learning into practice and get into the swing of things. Finally, we’ll finish the session with some practice readings on each other.

Perfect for the beginner, or those wanting to refresh their skills, you’ll leave this workshop with the know-how to start your tarot reading journey.

Please note: This venue is located on the first floor via a flight of stairs and does not have wheelchair accessibility.

  • 5/5 from Claudia Viloria-Mendoza, attended Aug 2026: I loved this class led by Liana. She has such a lovely presence and energy, which made the class feel like a safe and welcoming space to ask questions and share our thoughts from the very beginning. I especially enjoyed having the opportunity to receive a reading from another class member and to practise giving a reading myself. The experience showed me that learning to read tarot does not have to feel overly complicated or intimidating. It also highlighted how important a supportive atmosphere, like the one Liana created, can be when learning something new.
  • 5/5 from Mel Traill, attended Aug 2026: This class was so interesting, the time flew by! Liana created an environment where I felt comfortable to ask questions freely with no judgement and a casual and inviting setting to speak with other open, like-minded people. I attended this class alone and I loved hearing other people's stories and experiences with tarot and their interpretations/points of view. I had such a great time, thank you!
  • 4/5 from Anna Bell, attended Aug 2026: The class was great and the instructor was very knowledgeable and welcoming. I would have given 5 stars but the venue was so cold it made the experience a bit less enjoyable. Overall- great and would recommend.
  • 5/5 from Krystal Skinner, attended Jul 2026: As a first time trying to navigate the cards, this was a great introduction. Also gave me the confidence and understanding of how cards can be interrupted. Very friendly and comfortable space

Her enthusiasm and kind encouragement makes something new and possibly scary, very accessable and makes you want to learn more. There were a number of repeat attenders in the workshop - always a good sign! If you are interested in Tarot - this workshop will not disappoint. Liana's notes were a-ma-zing!

  • 4/5 from Robyn Connor, attended May 2026: The time went so quickly and it was a lot of fun learning the different suits and numerology attached to each of the minor arcana in Tarot. I would have liked to have spent more time on the major arcana and understood the individual meanings of these cards. Loved the "no rules" approach, which took the pressure off and made it easier to share what we thought the cards represented. Loved the recommendations of books and you tube creators and instagram creators and also other services offered by Lianna. Work shop in Collingwood is a great set up, it's my second time attending. Not accessible space as there are a number of stairs.
