Tea Blending Class

Learn how to make your own custom tea blend in Melbourne

1 hour Location Brunswick Class size 1 to 10 (public classes), 8 to 12   $65 - $75 ($75 per guest when you book for 1+ guests, $65/guest for 5+ guests) (Afterpay available)

The first part of the class involves a full tea tasting exploring different types of teas and herbal blends. We'll talk a little about tea, where it comes from, how it's grown and about tea in Australia.
Then we launch into hands-on tea blending! You will use about 40 different botanicals (herbs, roots, seeds, barks etc.) combined with an appropriate tea or tisane base to form your own unique formula. Many of the botanicals are from Australia and have a long and interesting history of Indigenous use (eg. lemon myrtle, wattle seeds, pepper berries, aniseed myrtle, dorigio pepper).
Your qualified tea expert will be there to answer all of your questions and help guide you to make a great tea blend that you'll love to drink. When you are all done you'll leave the class with your own unique tea blend in a beautiful glass amber jar for keepsake and storage.
Our formal class time is one hour. The extras include a gift-wrapped take-home tea gift box (check out the photos on our listing).

In 2014, I co-founded Impala + Peacock, an artisan tea-blending business based in Melbourne, and since its inception has have been involved in brewing, blending and cupping teas daily, in the pursuit of amazing tea and tisane creations.
I also held the title of Australian Blind Tea Tasting Champion in 2018 representing Australia on the world stage in China for blind tea tasting. In 2017 I won the Australian Tea Brewing Championships.
I've travelled to China, Japan, Sri Lanka and India searching out the best teas in the world and feel honoured to share these amazing teas and history with my tea-blending guests.
