Terracotta Wheel Throwing Class

If you're a green thumb, you've come to the right class. Our terracotta classes are perfect for making things for your garden, even that forest you're creating inside your house. Make your very own Olla pot for your plants or veggie garden. It's our oldest technology to date for irrigation with plant domestication.

About Olla Pots:
Ollas are unglazed terracotta pots you bury in the garden to help water your plants more efficiently. Ask your teacher for further information about Olla pots and decide if that is what you want to bring to life.

During this class, you will not only learn the mechanics of wheel throwing but also discover the versatility of working with terracotta as a clay body. Terracotta is commonly used for creating garden pots and porous pottery, so you can let your imagination run wild and make anything from incense holders to pot plants.

Our skilled and passionate teacher, Dyllan, will be there to guide you every step of the way. They will share techniques and methods that will help you bring your vision to life on the wheel. Don't worry if you're a beginner; our small class size ensures that you'll receive undivided attention and plenty of support throughout the process.

By the end of the class, you will have 1 to 2 fully thrown vessels completed and ready for firing. The process of creating porous terracotta pottery allows for a quicker turnaround time, meaning your pots will be ready to be picked up sooner.

• 2 x 600 grams of clay
• Make 1 large vessel or 2 vessels (student's decision)
• Guidance and techniques from an experienced pottery teacher
• Finished vessels will receive one firing and be ready to be picked up as soon as possible
• Pots can be left porous or will be coated in crystal quartz (food-safe, dishwasher-safe, microwave-safe). Ask your teacher for further information regarding this option.
