The Art of Indian Cooking at Home

Cook and eat your very own four-course Indian feast in this intensive but practical live online class.

Indian food expert, cook and writer, Bhavna Kalra, invites foodies for a hands-on, informative and delicious class on Indian cooking using seasonal vegetables.

If you are someone who loves ordering a Curry, fancy cooking it or just enjoy eating delicious, authentic and hearty Indian food, then this class is made for you!

In this two-and-a-half-hour online cooking class, you will:

• Discover the food history of the Indian dishes we will be cooking
• Learn about “Spices 1, 2, 3” - a valuable rundown on spices you need to cook authentic Indian food and where to find them
• Practice Indian cooking techniques and learn tips and tricks
• Enjoy eating one of the best four-course Indian feasts ever!

After the class, you will come away with knowledge on how to easily prepare your authentic and delicious Indian curries, Dals and meat-based dishes. We hope this will then motivate you to add a wholesome, healthy Indian way of cooking to your home-cooked, fresh meals.

This class will also give you the confidence to be familiar with spices and lentils that you can use when cooking other dishes and cuisine.

On the menu:

• Mushroom Korma OR Chickpeas Curry
• Aloo Gobi - Potatoes & Caulflower
• Dal
• Pulao (Lemon Rice OR Corn & Spinach pulao)
• Beetroot or Cucumber raita

If you are doing a group booking for eight, we can change the menu as per your requirement. We also cater to food intolerances, so let us know if you cannot have one of the dishes below and we will arrange something else for you.

Please note:

• Due to the availability of the ingredients sometimes we may change the menu.
• This course is suitable for people who are gluten intolerant, vegan and/or vegetarian.
• In unforeseen circumstances should we have to reschedule the class, we will notify you in advance and give you new dates to choose from.

• Beginners OR experts who want to learn how to get started OR learn more about Indian cuisine.
• Kids over 13 years welcome, as long as accompanied by a parent or guardian.

• A box of dry ingredients
• A box of vegetables arrange ready to collect from your local woolies or coles (Pick up by participants a day before the class). We can also arrange delivery of this box at an extra $15
• Checklist to prep before the class

• An apron
• Please wear closed-in shoes
• Hair lackey to tie your hair back
• Your favourite beverage to pair with the meal

This Box and Live class is a great indoor activity idea for individuals and couples as well as for virtual team building activities at home. Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 13 years old). An adult must be present whilst kid(s) engage with the box.
