Nice and relaxed environment to learn a new skill. The teacher was just filling in for the day but I think Wayne did a great job.

Adams a fab instructor. Knowledgeable and keen on sharing his tips of the trade. Much appreciated.
Venue was convenient. Small class which was great.

Teacher was great, considering it was his first time taking the class. Enjoyed it and had fund.

Helen Orr Aug 2023

Materials available and relevant to what I needed to know.
I liked that tools and equipment were explained in detail and instructions and tips on using them. Explanation of materials eg wood and tiles explained.

It was a great workshop and very informative, super helpful and good value for time!

I had no idea how to maintain a bike. This class was very straightforward and allowed you to get hands-on experience in bike maintenance and repair.

Jette Bollerup Aug 2023

Very friendly and approachable. Good at addressing questions put by participants. Easy to follow and covered the basics.

The venue is easy to find. Justin is friendly and very knowledgeable . The tips on tools and how to care for them was very helpful. Everyone had a different project so there were lots of different techniques to explore.
My only "complaint" is that the course is too short to cover all that we had the opportunity to work on.
Good value.

Teacher relatable and easy to understand - happy for questions - not rushed - good for the basics

Our teacher, Justin, was fabulous. Knowledgeable, patient, calm and friendly. There were many disruptions due to it being the Hub's Open Day, but Justin took it all in his stride without any signs of irritation or impatience.

This class was fabulous! Great value for money too! We got to learn how to construct a box with rails! Adam had done heaps of prep work, even having planed the recycled timber for us! He also bought some of his own tools in which was a well-planned move as some of the workshop tools are beyond their best. Adam is a great teacher who patiently demonstrates what needs to be done with full explanations of what he's doing. He is happy to give the extra time to explain when things don't go as they are meant to with the task! The room was a great space, but the tabletops could do with some improvement as a few of the attendees found the uneveness made it difficult to gets the joins on boxes to sit square. All in all, full marks to Adam and Class Bento! ⭐

Adam was AMAZING! So patient and taught me more than what I came for. Going out of his way to teach extra tips and tricks. I had so much fun and could not believe the confidence I grew in myself frim creating a wooden box all by myself. I am coming back

Our instructor Adam was fantastic. He was friendly, very knowledgeable and extremely patient. I built my box and I am very pleased with the result.

Luke was very knowledgeable and patient. He gave me enough information that I was able to pull a wooden chair apart completely during class, start to work on the pieces and then put it back together and complete at home.
I would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to repair their existing furniture or found pieces that they want to restore.

The teacher was great and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful day learning so much. He was very hands on and gave us context to all the choices and techniques he was using, while also giving us time to try things out. I can’t wait to take another class

The Bower is an excellently resourced venue for this course. Our teacher, Luke, is approachable, knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about repairing in a sustainable manner.

I came away with a completely repaired chair (the support struts underneath were breaking and had come loose from the legs), as well as the skills and confidence to be able to undertake this and similar repairs myself at home.

Fantastic. Nils is a very good teacher/tutor. He is very patient and explained everything to us newbies. The loation in Redfern is excellent. The venue is spacious and everyone had access to a bench and there was plenty of tools for everyone, so no sharing.

Good teacher, workshop with all the tools, able to demo and practice the basics and walked away with more confidence on how to use tools for doing some basic DIY home fixing skills. The bower reuse building is pretty warm in the summer, and with no air conditioning and no windows opened - it's a bit stuffy and uncomfortable. Otherwise a good class that I would recommend for beginners with no experience in tools. Those that had some knowledge of the tools were bored quickly and left the class early.

I was very excited to come to the course as I was hoping to learn some basic DIY skills. The course helped me to gain understanding of some basic tools and I finally know how to use them. Unfortunately I am too beginner as I felt I was behind most of the time. Would be good to have an even more beginner course in future.

It was a really fun class and Luke and Frank definitely knew what they were talking about.
Everything is provided. I learnt so much in such a small space of time that is going to be helpful with real world applications. Would highly recommend

Leant a lot
Liked the in depth explaining it made more sense why we have to do something one way
Open to ideas and teaching skills that people needed in class

Luke and Frank were amazing mentors to our group. We learnt a variety of skills from plumbing to tiling.

Everything was great! Rob the teacher was very knowledgeable and happy to answer our random questions. Class over weekend was suitable for those who work Monday-Friday. The class was interactive and fun. Location was easy to get to and from train station/bus stops. I would do a similar course again. Repurposing timber is such a great thing. Made some new friends too.
