Learn the traditional techniques to oil painting over four sessions

What you'll do
Fine artist Behzad Alipour will teach you the basics of traditional oil painting techniques in this intensive art course in Perth.
Over four sessions, beginner to intermediate artists will learn and study the fundamentals of oil painting and atelier practices.
You will study painting from a reference photograph. Still-life is also available upon request.
During this course you will:
- Learn how to use oil materials, tools and mediums.
- Be given a step by step guide to constructing a convincing painting.
- Learn how to use colour mixing (such as value, chroma, hue and temperature).
- Receive instruction and critiques on an individual basis.
- Work in a positive environment with like-minded artists, where you can socialise and inspire one another.
A maximum of eight students will be enrolled to ensure you get plenty of individual help and attention.
At the end of this course, you will take home a range of new traditional painting techniques.
The sessions are held on Sundays from 9 am to 1 pm:

- Sunday 16/5/21
- Sunday 23/5/21
- Sunday 30/5/21
Please note This is a continuous 'four-day course'. Flexible booking for an individual session is not available. Please register for Sunday 9th May at 9 am and you will be automatically considered for all four sessions.

Your teacher
Behzad is a Perth based artist. He formally commenced art training in 2005 under the guidance of Iranian master, Hamed Sadrarhami. Since moving to Australia, Behzad has continued with the self-development of his painting skills.
He studied classical realism techniques at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy and Sweden during the summers of 2013 and 2016. He is currently admitted Master of Applied Design and Art at Curtin University.
