It was booked during lunch period so it would be ideal to take a bottle of water to drink during the 2 hour period as the weather was humid..no drinking water was available at the venue. Need to provide some tissues for sticky hands or messy accidents. Workshop set up was spacious & relaxing.

It was a great group activity, and the venue was terrific (central, easy parking). The hardest part of the class was choosing the design and colours we wanted to use - there's lots to choose from. And then you have the envy at the end of the class when you see how good everyone else's chosen patterns and colours are! Our teacher, Ali, was very friendly, attentive and helpful. We had a date chosen to do an activity and I found this class that we all agreed looked fun. There wasn't a class being run on our date at that stage, but I texted and asked what the chances were of there being one, and Ali added the date to their calendar immediately so that I could book us all in. We all really enjoyed the class and were really happy with the lamps we made.

Although there wasn’t a special occasion that weekend, it turned out to be an incredible way to spend my time. The instructor was fantastic—he was kind, patient, and very knowledgeable about the craft. He explained the steps clearly, making sure everyone felt comfortable, even if it was their first time doing something like this. He also gave us creative freedom while guiding us through the technical details, which made the class both fun and educational. The venue was well set up and had a cozy, creative atmosphere. It was the perfect space to work on something as intricate as a Turkish lamp, with plenty of room to spread out and choose materials. Soothing Turkish music played in the background, adding to the peaceful and inspiring vibe of the class. Speaking of materials, I was really impressed with the range and quality provided—vibrant mosaic tiles, beads, and glass pieces in all sorts of colors and patterns. Having so many options really allowed me to customize my design, and I loved the final outcome of my lamp, which turned out beautifully! I attended the class with someone special, and it was wonderful to share this creative experience together. His lamp design was actually the most beautiful one in the class! During the class, we learned how to arrange the tiles and beads on the lamp base to create intricate designs, and we got to experiment with different techniques to secure them in place. I had so much fun seeing my vision come together, and it was fascinating to work with these traditional materials. As for value, I think the class was absolutely worth it. Not only did I leave with a gorgeous handmade lamp, but also with an enriching experience that I’ll always treasure. I wouldn’t mind doing the class again, just to try out a different design and experiment with new patterns and colors for another version of the lamp. What I liked most was the hands-on creativity. It was so rewarding to see a simple set of materials turn into something uniquely beautiful, and it gave me a real sense of accomplishment. Whether you’re looking to learn a new skill or simply enjoy a relaxing and creative afternoon, this class is definitely worth trying! Lastly, a huge thank you to Shirley for this gift—it was the best birthday present ever!

The instructor was great and he definitely helped everyone to select which small beads to use and he was also just super encouraging and a good vibe!

The instructors were around to help out, but were not over crowding, allowing you to do your own thing. I'm quite impressed by what I managed to create in the given time. The overall class atmosphere was laid back and fun.

We had a great time and now I have a lovely lamp for my study! The teacher was helpful and kind. I would recommend this class - you don't need to be super-artistic to end up with a great looking lamp.

Liam has ongoing issues with ADHD and other difficulties and I thought this was an opportunity to assist him in improving his concentration and helping him with social interaction. Liam found the amount of people in the room a bit difficult so the instructors kindly let us finish our lamps outside of the classroom. This proved to be a real bonus as he was able to complete his lamp without distraction. Kudos to the instructors for being very understanding and allowing us to finish our moroccan lamps outside. If it wasn't for that we would have had to abandon the class due to Liam's current difficulties.

• 4/5 from Melissa Clifton, attended Aug 2024: We had many colours however the mosaic pieces were mostly square but the patterns we were following were made up of mostly diamonds which meant we were unable to choose the colours that we wanted to use. The guy we had was very nice but the young lady was a little controlling one eg is that she took over someone else's work without asking if they needed or even wanted help.
