Would you like to join the Pottery Revolution? Let me share my tips and tricks for you to create fabulous functional ware at home - without a wheel!!
For the July Workshop, we will focus on vessels with a lid - cannisters, tagines, casseroles... anything that requires a lid. We will show you how to shape your pottery, add interest, create a gallery for the lid to sit on... the you'll be limited by your imagination. We will share a variety of skills to add individuality and creativity to your work – impression, monoprinting, stencilling, slab cutting and re-joining as well as adding texture, and a range of colour using oxide, underglaze, engobe and glaze to achieve just the right finish you’re looking for!
This workshop in August will focus on taking texture to a new level. Learn to make stamps, rollers and stencils to create interest and enhance your work and individuality. Once you've created your stamps and rollers, you'll use them to create amazing functional-ware. We will teach you how to use slabs to create flat 2 and 3 dimensional designs and then cutting, embellishing and reassembling to create functional pieces which will open up a whole new world of possibilities.
For the August Workshop, you'll make a selection of stamps and rollers with whatever designs you like and then make a mug or plate using an array of textures and soon you'll be making baskets, pedestal bowls and so much more. You'll be limited only by your imagination!

Tamara has been involved in Melbourne’s vibrant food scene for over 30 years, from cooking classes from her Tooronga Road school, authoring several cookbooks and appearing weekly on Melbourne radio on 3AW’s “Grape Expectations” wine and food show each Sunday.
Tamara’s first food love was bread-making and since 1989, Tamara has taught thousands of her students how to make delicious bread as well as cakes, risotto and so much more. Her love of food took her to France where she has taught and escorted gourmet ‘foodies’ to France to learn more about the food and lifestyle of this popular destination.
More recently, Tamara moved to the Mornington Peninsula and after extensive study in cheese making overseas. She established Boatshed Cheese in 2012 specialising in small-batch cheese using traditional cheese making methods, using goat, cow and buffalo milk, Tamara’s attention to detail has seen her win dozens of awards both in Australia and overseas for her delicious, hand made cheese.
BoatShed Cheese is also in demand across Melbourne’s fine dining and gourmet food lovers scene with weekly deliveries throughout metropolitan Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. Retail customers are also well catered for with weekly deliveries to Bills Farm at Queen Vic market and many other fine food sellers across Melbourne’s suburbs, as well as appearances at weekly farmers markets.
After recently selling her commercial cheesemaking business, Tamara now focusses on her Cheese making classes and also offers a Sourdough Masterclass which includes a range of breads and pastry.
