What you'll do
Join us for this fun two week course in Melbourne where you will build and glaze your own vessel with an expert ceramicist. Whether you're taking your first steps in ceramics or seeking to refine your expertise, this course caters to all skill levels.
Our course is for students who want to learn to create a hybrid of sculptural and functional ceramic artworks with like-minded makers, in an educational and fun environment.
Workshop 1: Ceramic vessel making
You will gain proficiency in utilising ceramic tools and clay effectively to sculpt your own ceramic forms. Once finished, the vessels will then undergo firing in preparation for the glazing session the following week.
Workshop 2: Ceramic Vessel Glazing
The ceramic vessel crafted by students in the prior workshop is now ready for glazing. You will then learn specialised glazing techniques that complement the movement of the clay. This will then be fired again, ready to collect in 4 weeks time.

Knowledge required
All skill levels are welcome. We can develop and enhance your existing ceramic skills or inspire a love of hand-building in enthusiastic beginners.
What you'll get
There are no hidden costs for our workshops. All clay, the use of tools, glazes, and firing costs are included in your workshop price. You will get to take home your vessel one month after the second workshop.
What to bring
We suggest that you wear clothes and shoes that you won’t mind getting some clay on. All clay and glaze should come out in the wash but it is best not to wear your favourite items! Short nails are best for the vessel building sessions.
