Create sweet and yummy Wagashi using plant-based ingredients at this hands-on dessert making class in Adelaide!

These traditional Japanese confections are healthy, vegan and vegetarian-friendly, making them the ultimate guilt-free desserts to indulge in.

In this hands-on class, you'll learn how to make:

  • Nerikiri - white bean paste with sweet and mochi rice cake
  • Dango - sweet dumplings
  • Daifuku - mochi rice cake stuffed with sweet fillings.

Your delicious creations will be served with Matcha green tea or Japanese green tea.

This class is a mixture of demonstration and hands-on practice. You'll be required to bring along your own tools for Nerikiri and costs vary depending on quality choice.

The Workers' Educational Association of South Australia Incorporated, founded in 1913, is Australia's largest non-government adult community education organisation.

The WEA provides learning opportunities for anyone aged 15 years or older (in most courses - there are some age restrictions on individual courses) and there are generally no pre-requisites for courses and no assessment or exams.

We operate as an innovative, flexible provider of moderately priced adult education services. We're an independent, non-government association almost completely funded by the student fees that we receive.

In addition to our skills and enrichment courses including computer training, we offer overseas tours, services to assist people with a disability enter mainstream courses and WEA Clubs membership that enables students to continue their interests.

The WEA conducts courses at over 30 locations in metropolitan Adelaide, South Australia. A large part of our program is conducted at the centrally located WEA Centre in Angas Street, Adelaide.
