Elevate your Watercolour Pencil skills Workshop (Intermediate)Welcome to the world of watercolour pencils, a forgiving, rewarding, tidy and enjoyable medium that is not as recognised as traditional watercolours. Your teacher, Julia Softley is here to spread the love for this beautiful medium and its ease as a practise.This class is for those who are already familiar with the foundations of WC pencil or an extension class who have completed the 'hidden secrets' and wish to familiarise themselves with some more advanced Wc pencil techniques.Julia will guide you through everything you need to know to get started in this meditative art practice. You will receive ongoing in-class feedback and one-on-one assistance throughout the class so that you'll be able to draw tonally with your own style and confidence.This class will include a 15-minute break to reset the body and mind.Some key components of this 3-hour class:A recap on WC pencil quality materials and suppliesSelecting and using resourcesTricks of the trade in starting and using guidesBlending, tonal difference, colour theoryBuilding your technical library with extension skillsets suited to your personal style.By the end of the class, you can take your artwork home, as well as new watercolour knowledge*For any students who have completed the Intro Workshop ' Hidden Secrets to WC Pencil' and wish to explore the medium further with this workshop, this will give you an extension of time to practice your skills and Julia will provide you with further one-on one and extensive technique in this workshop.

Knowledge required
All are welcome, this class is recommended for those students who have completed the introduction workshops, also suitable for intermediate or experienced artists who are familiar with WC pencil. This is also a good extension class if you wish to continue from the Hidden Secrets Intro to WC Pencil class.
What to bring
All Materials including good quality artists pigments, paper and references will be provided for the class.We do offer a set of 6 pencil selection set for those who would like to take home and complete their work if required, or simply explore further.BYO refreshments and lunch. There will be a kitchen accessible for hot beverages.

Hi, I'm Julia, I am a passionate artist with a comprehensive background in the business of Apparel. My career in creative direction of 2 decades, lead from my original Fine Art studies to the world of fashion. This pathway was intense and by 2023 took on my physical and mental heath. I have since taken a step to the side with a focus on my own love for aesthetic, colour and textures into a mediative art practice. Watercolour pencil is a unique, fun and forgiving medium and not as recognised in the area of traditional Watercolour.I love to share my passion with others through my self taught techniques and practice. I use WC pencil as a practice to de-stress, disconnect from day to day and enjoy the moment of creating beautiful art.During my classes I not only share my joy for this medium but also check in with each student & can provide therapeutic tools which can assist as a mediative practice.As my practice is becoming more recognised in Perth's art community, I Invite you to switch off from the world and join me for a session whether you are a beginner or experienced artist.
