Hi, I'm Shanae, the creator behind Karri Studio.
I'm a self-taught watercolour artist and paint maker based in the Perth Hills, Western Australia. What started as a love of painting quickly turned into an obsession with making my own art supplies, and these days you'll usually find me covered in pigment, testing new paint recipes, or designing my next workshop.
Every watercolour used in my classes is handmade by me in small batches using carefully selected pigments. I love helping people discover that watercolour doesn't have to be intimidating, and that creating art can be relaxing, enjoyable and accessible to everyone.
My workshops are designed to be welcoming and beginner-friendly, with plenty of guidance and no pressure to be "good at art". Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or returning to a creative hobby after years away, you'll be encouraged to experiment, learn new skills and enjoy the process.
When I'm not teaching, I create original artworks inspired by the Australian bush, wildlife and native flora, alongside a range of handmade watercolours and artist supplies through Karri Studio.
I believe art should be approachable, enjoyable and a little bit messy, and I'm excited to share that experience with you.
