Cross the 3rd longest navigable River in the world on a ferry, before boarding a small flat bottomed boat cruising amongst incredible birdlife.  Marvel at ancient cliffs and take in the sights from amazing vantage points.   Enjoy dinner together with your tour group to learn more about the River Murray International Dark Sky Reserve.  In the astronomy and stargazing tour, you will set up shop in a private location in one of the darkest places on earth - a stargazer's dream! Here you'll learn all about the history of astronomy and how to read the night sky and its constellations.  If you're looking for a different experience then this is a fantastic option for you. Not only will you be able to enjoy this experience with your loved ones and create some new memories, but you'll also learn about the local history, as well as walk away with some stargazing tips you can use anytime! Please note:

• Weather is vital as telescopes are affected by wind, clouds and rain. Weather forecasts change daily and are unreliable until the day of the tour. Ultimately, Mother Nature is in charge! We certainly understand this experience is a bit of gamble and requires commitment. Once you book, you will be asked to continue with your plans to attend this tour until you are contacted on the day of your tour via SMS/ text message with confirmation or cancellation. Our team holds a conference at 10am and the majority of the time we are in touch with you immediately after this decision. However, very infrequently we are undecided, and wait until the 1pm forecasting from BOM.  We reserve the right to cancel stargazing nights due to adverse weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, customers will be offered the following options:
• A full refund of the ticket price, or
• An alternative date for the event, subject to availability.

Customers must notify of their choice (refund or reschedule) through official contact methods within 7 days of cancellation to ensure timely processing.

Once a tour commences, there is no guarantee of weather interruptions. Once a tour commences you willingly participate, there is no refund or rescheduling offer. In the event of weather prohibiting your tour from proceeding, we will try to offer you an alternative tour date if possible. Otherwise, you will receive the option to convert to a gift voucher valid for 12 months after your cancelled tour or offered a refund of payment already processed.

• This tour needs minimum numbers to run. In the rare event we don't meet these numbers, you will get a refund or you can contact us to reschedule.
• We love children! Please note however this Dark Sky Experience is quite long and a late night return.  Children of young ages may find the tour difficult to follow. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult, mindful of the enjoyment of other guests during the tour.
• PRICE / AGES DESCRIPTION: Child 3-16 years, Adult 16 & over, Infant: 2 years and under (travel free)  No concession price.
• WINTER HOURS: during the darkness of winter the astronomy start time is often earlier.  This depends on the Gold Stars Sunset Dinner Tour coinciding with meeting up for this Astronomy only session.

- This tour is not a private charter.  This means you may be sharing the ride with others. Private charters are available on request, also outside the darkest moon phase event calendar dates, and the full capacity fare may be charged accordingly.

- Luxury travel in comfortable small group tour vehicle/s

• Use of a telescope and red torch lights to view the night sky
• Main meal at Pretoria Hotel, Mannum Club or Walker Flat

- Murray River Boat Eco-Cruise Fully enclosed trailer for transporting equipment and luggage upon request
