Beginner-Friendly Felting Kit – Felted Pebbles and Pod
Create a sculptural felted pod inspired by rocky coastlines, sea-washed pebbles, and the calming blues and whites of waves coming ashore. Our beginner's felting kit – Felted Pod introduces you to the soothing, tactile process of wet felting. Because the kit includes every material you need, the project feels simple, enjoyable, and beginner-friendly. You can choose from ocean blue tones or natural pebble neutrals, allowing you to create a coastal colour palette that suits your home décor or gifting needs.
Easy-to-Use Materials for Beautiful Felting Results
This kit features soft, double-carded Merino Wool Roving that pulls apart easily and layers smoothly. As a result, your felted pod forms evenly, shapes well, and finishes with a clean, polished surface.
Moreover, pure Merino fibres compress firmly and hold sculptural structure, meaning your finished pod becomes a durable, long-lasting 3D vessel suitable for display, storage, or decorative styling. Therefore, the Felted Pod Kit is perfect for your home, studio, or as a thoughtful handmade gift.
Beginner-Friendly Instructions for Relaxing, Creative Making
Because the fibres compress evenly and bond quickly, this beginner's felting kit suits complete beginners as well as experienced makers who want a relaxing, ready-to-go coastal-inspired felting project.
You will learn core felting techniques, including:
  • Layering Merino wool evenly
  • Creating a hollow 3D felted structure
  • Working with warm water and soap
  • Shaping, refining, and forming smooth sculptural curves
These foundational skills also prepare you for future projects such as bowls, vessels, sculptural forms, and other 3D felted objects.
What’s Included in the Beginner-Friendly Felting Kit – Felted Pebbles and Pod
Your felting kit includes everything required to make a beautifully finished felted pod:
  • Soft Merino Wool Roving in Ocean Blues or Pebble Neutrals
  • Accent fibres for coastal texture and visual depth

Hi, I’m Jacqueline — a textile artist, fashion designer, and pattern maker specialising in eco printing, natural dyeing, felting, and contemporary textile art. I run Tweed Valley Textile Company in the Northern Rivers, where I teach hands-on eco printing workshops, felting workshops, and textile art classes inspired by nature, fibre, and slow creative practice.
My journey began in the fashion industry, where I spent decades developing garments, drafting patterns, and refining my eye for fabric, fit, and construction. Although I loved fashion design, I gradually became drawn to the expressive, sculptural possibilities of fibre art. Working with merino wool, silk, and natural materials opened up a new creative path — one that blends design expertise with the intuitive, organic qualities of eco dyeing, colour, and texture.
Eco leaf printing and felting remain at the heart of my practice. I love the moment when a silk bundle is unwrapped to reveal botanical prints, or when loose merino fibres transform into a solid 3D felted form. These processes feel grounding, meditative, and deeply connected to the environment — and that’s the experience I share in my workshops.
As an experienced fashion designer and pattern maker, I bring technical knowledge to everything I teach. My background includes working with Australian and U.S. labels, producing custom garments, and teaching at TAFE NSW and other schools. Today, I combine my industry experience with my passion for eco printing, felting, and textile design, offering workshops where beginners and creatives alike can explore fibres, colour, and natural materials with confidence.
I love helping people discover their creativity. Many students arrive saying they’re “not artistic, ” yet leave with beautiful eco-printed textiles, felted sculptures, and the joy of learning something new. My classes are friendly, welcoming, and designed to help you reconnect with hands-on making in a slow, mindful way.
If you’re interested in eco printing, felting, textile art, or simply want a meaningful creative experience in the Northern Rivers, I’d love to welcome you into my Northern NSW Studio.
