What you'll do

If you've never picked up a paintbrush before but would love to learn to draw with ink, then come along and learn the basics of line and texture using a combination of ink techniques.

You'll be taught by expert teacher and practising botanical artist, Tania Daymond, starting off with some easy exercises in the morning to learn how to observe, draw and paint.

Using your new skills, you'll progress in the afternoon to create your main botanical drawing. You'll soon be fully immersed in the artistic experience and by the end of your drawing class, you'll have a wonderful piece of your own botanical artwork to take home with you.

As you work your way through your drawing exercises you'll gain a new appreciation for our local botanical flora. You'll learn alongside other like-minded beginners and enjoy lots of fun and laughs as you get in touch with your hidden creative talents.

In keeping with W.A. Covid requirements the venue no longer requires you to wear a mask during the workshop or to be vaccinated to attend the workshop. So hope to see you mask-free at a workshop soon.

Physical Distancing:
Both venues have been specifically chosen for these Drawing Workshops. They have enough space and ventilation for all patrons to set up, work, play, draw while feeling comfortable and safe.
There is a full kitchen and toilets onsite for convenient access to hand washing and clean up.

Hand Hygiene
Hand sanitiser, wipes and access to clean soapy water will be provided free at all times for patrons to use. All surfaces, materials and 'touchables' will be pre and post workshop cleaned with wipes and soapy water. Individual washable cups and will be provided for water to clean brushes and used for washes.

Check In
Everyone attending the Workshops will be required to check in and register. You have the option of using the SafeWa App or manual registration with provision of your name, postcode, mobile and email.

Tania has been drawing since she was a little girl. Always dragging around a bag of coloured pencils and paper.

As an adult, she completed a Diploma in Art Education and then Fashion Design. After a successful career in both, she is now a qualified art teacher and practising botanical artist. Tania's amazing botanical art is all hand-drawn with a fountain pen and the blackest ink on archival rag paper.

Tania loves sharing her creative botanical passion with others. It doesn't matter if you have never picked up a pencil before or if you already have some drawing skills - Tania's classes are perfect for anyone who wants to share in the joy, fun and delight of learning to draw botanical flora.

A lot of structure goes into making a workshop where the participants feel it was easy to master the sills with confidence. Light and airy workspace and a good cross section of people. It was a lovely experience with Miss Daymond. I’m a fan.

Had a great time! Miss Daymond mafe me feel welcomed as a beginner and the class atmosphere was relaxed and friendly.
The day was structured well and we were given a gift set to keep which will make it nice and easy to continue the ideas at home.

I have attended a number of Tania’s workshops before and have always been eager to return. Tania is an excellent teacher with well thought out lessons. She provides her class with a well presented work area stocked with all the tools you will need. The extra touches such as bottles of water, individual hand sanitiser and excellent student quality equipment make for a very comfortable day. Tania takes the time to explain the activity and is always available to go back and explain anything again or demonstrate any practical component. People of all skill levels will learn from Tania’s classes. If you want a professional and talented tutor in a relaxed, engaging and inclusive environment, then I would highly recommend any of Tania’s classes.
