The class was very comprehensive, we learnt a lot of different techniques that can be applied to all kinds of leather projects. The tools, hardware, techniques and knowledge that Andrew provided were excellent. I’ve definitely found a new hobby to enjoy! My belt came out so well. I can’t wait to wear it! I really recommend this class for anyone who is interested in leather craft projects, or who just wants to make a nice belt!

The location made it impossible to go get coffee/takeaway, without missing vital information. Using a group facility's kitchen was not acceptable. Being advised to make coffee/tea owned by others is not acceptable.

Your teacher
Andrew, an avid re-enactor and LARPer, is the proprietor of Western Leathercraft. With a lifelong passion for art, primarily illustration, Andrew’s interest in leathercraft began after joining a local Perth medieval club (The Society for Creative Anachronism) in 1989. He moved beyond making leather belts and decorative armour when in 2010 he bought the craft shop, Western Leathercraft, which was then based in East Perth.Andrew began hand-crafting leather items to sell in the shop and at market stalls, trading skills with a wide range of local leather crafters, and attending conferences to improve his skills. Teaching Leathercraft since 2017, he is also a Secondary School Teacher of Visual Art and Humanities.
