Curious about crochet but not sure where to start? This hands-on beginner course will guide you through the essential techniques step by step, building your skills and confidence over three structured lessons. The lessons are set over 6 weeks, with 2 weeks between each lesson to practice.
Lesson 1: The Granny Square
Start with a classic! You’ll learn how to:
  • Make a slip knot and foundation chain
  • Work double crochet stitches
  • Form sides and corners
  • Understand stitch placement and introduction to pattern reading
By the end of this session, you’ll have completed your very first granny square — the foundation of countless crochet projects.
Lesson 2: Stitching in Rows
Build on your skills as you learn how to crochet flat pieces in rows. This lesson introduces:
  • Single crochet
  • Double crochet
  • Treble crochet
  • Turning your work and maintaining straight edges
You’ll gain confidence switching between stitches and understanding how stitch height affects your fabric.
Lesson 3: Circular Crochet
In our final session, you’ll explore working in the round. You’ll learn how to:
  • Crochet in a circle
  • Increase stitches evenly
  • Shape your work
  • Read and follow basic round patterns
By the end of the series, you’ll understand the core techniques needed to begin your own crochet projects with confidence.
