  • 5/5 from Daniel Shane Pinker, attended Mar 2026: I really enjoyed the variety of rocks and plants available. Both teachers were very helpful and knowledgeable about terrarium making, and they explained everything clearly. They made the experience enjoyable and easy to follow.
  • 3/5 from Lauren Hassan, attended Mar 2026: Really knowledgable host, and loads of materials to choose from, end product is great. However the class ran over by an hour and left us late for other plans, despite being told the class would finish on time. We probably could’ve cut down on a few things to save time. It’s a shame, we felt so stressed about being late that it ruined half of the experience for us. We were also promised a terrarium care guide, which we still haven’t received, even after I have followed up twice.
  • 4/5 from Lorraine Maple, attended Jan 2026: Teacher was very informative and friendly. I was happy with my terrarium and leant a lot, but was disappointed with the late change in venue on the morning of the class and had to find and make other arrangements to get there.

  • 5/5 from Bronwen Torelli, attended Feb 2023: Jo is straight up an amazing, collected, and charismatic teacher. The class was extremely well setup, and extremely well taught. You’ll learn how to (and assemble) your own terrarium throughout the few hours and be taught everything you need to both maintain your brand new terrarium as well as head out in to the world and start crafting more. Jo hand picks EVERYTHING! Flowers, moss, the terrarium jars, even down to the stones used in the class! Every step is explained thoroughly and Jo’s patience and love for their craft shows in every step of the class. We did this class as a Hens-Day activity, it was nice and aircon’d, easy for everyone to follow, and gave everyone something to take home ad well. We had a few first-time gardeners and they absolutely loved it! Could not rate it more highly! Absolutely wonderful class. Well worth it for any person with even a remote interest in art, gardens, and general creativity!

Loved the explanations behind each step and what each plant would contribute to our terrarium, the hour and a half flew by soooo quick as a result! It was a really immersive and fruitful experience and I'd consider returning again because Tanya has so much knowledge and the class was fun.
  • 5/5 from Duong Ngo, attended Feb 2023: A throughly enjoyable class. Jo was very generous with her time, knowledge and materials. We were well supported with terrarium construction essentials and design ideas, but also encouraged to trial and develop our own styles too. Jo patiently guided us through the steps so we came away with a greater appreciation for terrarium making, but most importantly a lovely terrarium to keep and enjoy.

I learnt about plants from my grandfather. I would watch him pull carrots out of the ground and wipe the dirt off on his pants. He would bend down from his place in the clouds, where giants lived, and hand them to me. It felt magical. And it still feels like that every time I start working my fingers through the root of plants for my terrarium.
