Colour Theory
We'll touch briefly on colour theory, and why working with a limited palette works well for Abstract works. Once you've tested you palette we can get painting!
Underpainting + Composition
We'll go through brief explanation of the process, select a style and colour palette and then begin with a wash of colour. An underpainting brings depth to your piece (and stops and white bits poking through). A quick composition sketch gives us the confidence to get started with paint.
Painting
Using a limited palette stops things getting muddy, a common issue with Acrylics. We'll work in light layers, to allow for drying. Building up colour in block areas.
More Layers
Using our initial marks as guides, build up the colour until you are happy with the result. This example is quite simple. But we can add splashes of bold colour, repeat marks over the top or experiment with other points of interest.
