What you'll do
*Currently taking private bookings, please message to request preferred dates and your group numbers*Further your tactics and strategies in this hands on class with a competitive over-the-board chess teacher.Suitable for players with a good foundation of the rules of play, experience with tactics and strategies. In these sessions we will cover openings, progress through the term to middlegames and endgames. Attending subsequent sessions will see you build on content learned from the last, when put together aims to provide a good base for improving the students' play overall. Take home worksheets will be given on select weeks. You are welcome to attend one or multiple weeks. Each session will be tailored to the attending students, so feel free to add a note in your booking to tell us if there's something specific that you would like to learn.Our teacher, Jacob, is a qualified competitive chess teacher. He's been playing competitive over-the-board chess for the past 8 years, and he has a classical rating of 1964 which ranks him as 40th in the state currently.Jacob is experienced with teaching complete beginners through to preparing intermediate-advanced students to attend interschool competitions. He's patient and encouraging to his students.You will have fun also playing and learning with likeminded chess enthusiasts.​Private lessons and group bookings are also available. Send us a request.
