Experience the mouth-watering flavours and aromas of the Middle East with BBQ School in Centennial Park. Learn how to cook Middle Eastern food on the barbeque and enjoy devouring your tasty creations!
In this beginner-friendly cooking class, you will learn BBQ techniques to make delicious Middle Eastern cuisine. You will be shown tips on rubs, timing, and temperatures and of course, be shown how to make the perfect accompaniments.
Discover more about the seven main BBQ regions of the Middle East including information on Lebanese, Turkish, Greek and Arabic dishes and learn about the differences between them. You will also explore techniques such as smoking with charcoal and the shish method.
What you'll be cooking:
- Lamb and pistachio kofta with fattoush salad
- Buttermilk chicken shish kebab with lemon pickle and oregano
- Cauliflower shawarma with tahini sauce
- Greek-style butterflied shoulder of lamb, cumin, lemon and garlic
- Baked fetta with lemon oil and thyme
- Hummus and baba ganoush
- Tabbouleh and Turkish bread
On arrival to your cooking class, you will be provided with a cold beer and an apron before being welcomed by your chefs for the day. At the end of the class, enjoy all of your amazing Middle Eastern dishes.
