  • 5/5 from Jessie Rogers, attended Jul 2026: Such a great experience! Food was delicious, they were able to cater for allergies easily. The staff had extensive knowledge of the gin and explained everything clearly. One of the best high teas I have been too. Highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Mandy Ross, attended Jul 2026: Amazing experience. Fabulous tasting and best high tea we’ve ever had. Superb ingredients in everything. Lovely staff. Definitely worth doing.

  • 5/5 from Kerry McKenzie, attended Oct 2024: Great high tea with a gin paddle, highly recommend for a relaxed sunny afternoon. On the list to do again
  • 5/5 from Tegan McKenzie, attended Oct 2024: Lovely food! The staff are very knowledgeable about the gins that were on the paddles. We arrived early for our high tea, and they were able to accommodate us. 10/10.
  • 5/5 from Laura McFarlane, attended Oct 2024: Delicious food, great assortment of gins. We were lucky enough to have great weather on the day too, so to sit on the balcony area looking over a big grassy area made it extra special.
  • 5/5 from Anne Stuart, attended Sep 2024: Had a wonderful high tea. Plenty and beautiful drinks, glad we had organised someone to drive us home. Very yummy food and plenty of it. Glad the place wasn’t too busy so we could spend almost 2 hours there. For the amount of food and drinks 1 hour is not enough. Very friendly and attentive staff. Thank you Bass and Flinders
  • 5/5 from Anna Ottersbach-McLean, attended Aug 2024: Great experience, perfect gift for our parents / in-laws. Had a beautiful time in the sun with delicious gin paddles and lots of high tea food.
  • 5/5 from Mirjana Gligorova, attended Jun 2024: A wonderful afternoon of Gin high tea tasting experience. Well organised, great venue, great courteous and very helpful and knowledgeable staff who could answer all questions and made this tasting experience even better. I am not a spirit drinker, however I enjoyed every sip of the great selection of very unique gin, various delicious cakes that were made with gin, tasty cheese, nuts, fresh and dried fruits. Thank you Harry and other staff for your kindness!
  • 4/5 from Brigitte McGregor, attended May 2024: I was given a voucher for this experience. Booking was easy online via the ClassBento website and I received the email confirmation as well as a reminder email the day prior. Upon arrival at the venue though, they didn't seem to be aware of our booking but after viewing the voucher and email, they quickly said it would be ok since they were still able to provide it. May have been an issue if the venue had been full at the time though? It was a nice experience though quite a lot of gin to taste which was tricky with driving etc. The food platter was nice - sandwiches were fresh and delicious. Some of the scones though were quite hard and seemed to have been made the day prior. Overall it was a fun thing to do.
  • 5/5 from Emma Sonon, attended Apr 2024: I booked the Gin High Tea for my sister as a Christmas present as it combined both our favourites Gin and high tea and she loved it great mix gins to taste and the food was the perfect amount. We loved the venue we sat inside due to the weather but we would love to come back in the warmer weather to have a few drinks outside quite a large outdoor area. Our host was lovely very attentive made some good suggestions for our Gin cocktail to try We will definitely be returning!
  • 5/5 from Anna Xia, attended Sep 2023: Such a scrumptious display of finger sandwiches, cheeses, charcuterie, tarts, cakes and warm scones with jam and cream. A full sized gin and tonic to begin with that you can select from a curated menu and also a paddle of four gins you can mix with tonic water and ice yourself on the table. We were 25 minutes late and there was a full house but nothing was too much trouble. There was a lady who took time out to introduce us to their gins especially the Angry Ant gin that is infused with ant pheromones. Curious to try yourself?
  • 5/5 from Travis Bourke, attended Mar 2023: Went with a friend and I was surprised by the amount of food. I’ll come back with a friend but treat it more like a lunch.

Bass and Flinders Distillery was founded in 2009 on the Mornington Peninsula with a passion for adventure and a desire to create a range of high quality, artisanal gins brandies and liqueurs, that truly reflect our home and heritage.
Proudly the first distillery on the Mornington Peninsula, our original inspiration was drawn from a love of classic brandies produced in France. Using many of the same traditional production techniques, we set out to produce a premium aged spirit, our Ochre brandy, that proves just how good Australian brandy can be. Our location in the wine growing region of the Mornington Peninsula provided the perfect setting to pursue our dream.
Drawing inspiration from our coastal home where the sea meets the wine-growing hinterland, we handcraft our grape-based eau de vie spirit right here at the distillery, using traditional methods from the Charente region of France. Victorian wine specially crafted to our desired flavour profile is double distilled in small batches using a gas-fired alembic pot still - a method designed to celebrate the flavour and viscosity provided by the grapes. This is our definition of quality.
We are on a constant journey of discovery, developing new styles of gins, brandies and liqueurs. We are always scouting for unique, native botanicals that capture the essence of our local flora and define our true sense of place.
We are the ‘Spirit of the Mornington Peninsula’.
