Forget snow and pinecones! Let’s celebrate the season the Australian way. In this Botanical Wreath-Making Workshop, you’ll create your own festive wreath using fresh, locally sourced foliage and botanicals, along with playful summer trims.

This isn’t your typical pine-and-holly Christmas look. Instead, we’re celebrating an authentic Australian-style festive season, with sunny botanicals, natural textures, and creative details that make a joyful statement on your door or as a centrepiece on your table.

Guided step by step, you’ll learn how to design, layer, and build your wreath from scratch, using sustainable materials and methods that honour the environment. Every element is thoughtfully chosen to reflect the beauty of our local landscape; and when the season’s over, your wreath can be fully composted (including the base, once the ribbons are removed), or repurposed if you so choose, or save the base and make wreath-making a new annual Christmas tradition.

This 2.5-hour workshop includes everything you need: wreath bases, fresh foliage, trims, and tools, and is designed for all experience levels. You’ll leave with your own bespoke wreath, ready to brighten your home and your holidays.

Your host, Nic from Made in the Afternoon, curates welcoming, relaxed, and thoughtfully detailed creative events. Expect good tunes, drinks flowing, conversation buzzing, and plenty of festive cheer. You’ll walk away not only with a handmade piece you’re proud of but also with a memory of a joyful, community-focused afternoon. See past happy makers at @madeintheafternoon.

If you’ve participated in a Made in the Afternoon wreath event before and would like to reuse your wreath base, a discount will be applied to your ticket.

Please note: This class requires at least 5 students to run. In the unlikely event that we don't get this number of students, we'll cancel the class and fully refund you and inform you via email, so please watch your email a few days prior to the class.
