Resin Top Coat Workshop

Make your art shine with a coat of epoxy resin.

2.5 hours Class size 1 to 8 guests

$55 - $95 ($55 for Resin 6 coasters; $66 for Resin 12 coasters; $80 for Resin your art (up to 1.5 square feet); $95 for Resin your art (up to 3 square feet)) (Afterpay & PayPal Pay in 4 available)

If you want to make your art shine (literally!) and make the colours pop, a coat of epoxy resin might just be the thing. In this workshop, you will bring the art or coasters you have already created and finish them off with a coat of resin.
The workshop teaches you how to finish off your work with varnish or resin. We discuss the various options and processes for varnishing and how to apply resin safely to your art and coasters. The workshop enables you to apply resin to a number of your artworks. A resin that can withstand heat is available for those who will resin the coasters they have made in class.
This class is for students of Live For Art, as a service to learn and execute this additional optional step of applying resin. It is most popular to apply resin to Bloom style art, where the resin helps the pearl pigment to show their full glory and for those who have painted coasters.
This class will cover:
  • How to apply varnish in a variety of ways
  • How to apply epoxy resin, including preparation of the canvas, how to mix and apply the resin, and how to manage safety.
Students will bring a number of art pieces and/or coasters to the class to resin. As resin is expensive, we have created various size options so the cost fits the amount of resin that will be used. Choose the one that best fits your requirements.
  • Resin your art (up to 3 square feet) $95
  • Resin your art (up to 1.5 square feet) $80
  • Resin 12 coasters $66
  • Resin 6 coasters $55
Please note:
  • We will use resin with no VOCs and with properties to prevent yellowing. The resin we use does not have a strong smell, but it is still a chemical that needs care when using.
  • Classes are limited to a maximum of 6 students.
  • If you're feeling unwell with flu-like symptoms, such as fever, cough, or a runny nose, please refrain from attending (a full refund will be provided).
What you'll get
