The class size was appropriate and all the participants were supportive of each other. I hope Helena offers other workshops like this as I would be keen to do more with her.

I have never used either of these before and was a bit nervous but Helena made it all seem simple, with appropriate safety measures in place. I came home with a planter that I had made myself. It is a bit wonky but I am very pleased with it for a first try

Fun, no pressure, very informative and good for those who have never picked up a hammer before or, like me, have done plenty of (wonky) DIY but needed some guidance on the fundamentals to get things looking neater and more refined. Worth one afternoon of life training where you can ask questions over getting overwhelmed in YouTube tutorials. Looking forward to testing out my new skills!

She was extremely knowledgeable and patient in explaining how to safely use the tools and everything we as beginners will need to know. Highly recommend this class for anyone, even if you have some experience with basic tools, as you'll be surprised with how much more there is to it.

She really gave practical advice even on things we wouldn’t have thought we’d need guidance on. She was incredibly knowledgeable and was was still really patient and gracious even when I stuffed up quite a bit. Great way to meet some other lovely people too. It was long and a bit intimidating but it was still a supportive and calm space, perfect for pushing yourself and trying something new! Also Shan was delightful company 10/10 good girl ️ I’d go again for sure! Also, even though my planter turned out a tiny bit ugly it’s still very much usable and, more importantly, I gained a lot more confidence in myself and will try it again

Our instructor was informative, and understanding of women who have not used tools before. At the end we had a planter to take home. Great class.

This class was fantastic for a beginner. We were taught how the tools work, best practices for using them, and what to look for when buying our own. There was plenty of one-on-one guidance while actually using the tools, and we even walked away with something we’d made ourselves. The space was comfortable and welcoming, the instructors were warm and approachable, and the group was friendly and open. I would highly recommend this class to any woman wanting to build confidence in DIY or learn how to tackle small repairs around the home.

Didn't realise she would teach such handy tips which amazed me, from how to use the tools to what the label on the screws and nails meant. Would have never known some of the hints that she showed us but will be a great help in the future when tackling my diy jobs. Thanks heaps for a great experience.

We learned how to use a jigsaw, measure wood out for cutting, use a drill, how to select the correct drill bits... Which enabled us to build our own planter box. I'd definitely do more workshops like this to build on handy home maintenance skills.

All the tools we needed were available to us, and the break down was easy to follow. When it came to putting our planter together, we had so much fun with each step! No question was dismissed or reacted to poorly, which set a really comfortable tone f0r the class, and having the 'why' and 'what might happen if not' behind techniques and methods was really engaging and helpful! We learned so much new information, but also were able to recognise and explain mistakes we've maybe been making up to now.

She was super patient, encouraging and supportive whilst she was guiding all students through the process of making the planter. I left the workshop with a planter, a whole lot of confidence, knowledge and practice using power tools.

The teacher was really great in explaining and demonstrating the process. The process didn't feel rushed and was well-planned, including precutting some of the parts for ease of flow in the allocated time. I learned things about cutting, measure, drilling and even about screws and hammering that whilst I'd had some exposure had not fully understood. Would recommend to others and would be interested to do a more advanced course when available.
