Ceramic Handbuilding and Sculpture Class: Open Studio Sessions

Join a relaxed, community-focused ceramics session designed for makers of all experience levels

2.5 hours Class size 5 to 10 guests

$80 - $1,300 ($80 for One Session; $120 for Beginners Double Session; $375 for Five Sessions; $700 for Ten Sessions; $1,300 for Twenty Sessions) (Afterpay & PayPal Pay in 4 available)

Whether you're completely new to clay or returning to an existing project, you'll work alongside others in a supportive, open studio environment centred around hand-building and sculpture.
If you're a beginner, Lauren will introduce you to the fundamentals of hand-building and guide you through creating your first piece from start to finish. From there, she'll help you explore different techniques, creative directions, and project ideas as your confidence grows.
When you book, you're reserving a place in one of our weekly open studio sessions. Unlike a structured course, these classes allow you to work at your own pace, with guidance available whenever you need it. You might choose to develop an independent project, learn a new technique, or simply enjoy a few hours of making in good company.
You'll have access to the dedicated ceramics studio, including tools, glazes, and firing facilities. Sessions are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 8–10 participants, creating a calm and considered atmosphere where independent making and shared learning sit side by side.
Available session times:
  • Wednesdays: 6:00pm–8:30pm
  • Saturdays: 12:00pm–2:30pm
  • Sundays: 12:00pm–2:30pm
Beginners, please note that ceramic pieces require at least two sessions to complete. Your first session will be spent creating your design. Once your piece has dried and been bisque fired, you'll return for a second session to glaze and finish your work before its final firing. For this reason, we recommend booking a beginner's double session to experience the full ceramics process and take home a finished piece.
What you'll get
A deeper understanding of ceramic handbuilding and a complete work or two.
Knowledge required
Beginner-friendly to intermediate.
