Choose the Colour of Your Meditation Pebble
You will have a choice of local Australian wood such as jarrah, she-oak and more.
Using the Vise or Clamp
Setting up for the first step of cutting the wood is easy. The wood is put into the vise or clamp and held tight by turning the handle clockwise. To release turn the handle anti clockwise.
Using a Small Tenon or Dovetail Hand Saw
To start cutting the wood three small angular cuts are made. Then gently slide the hand saw back and forward without too much pressure to push down. Glide back and forth until the piece of wood is cut off.
Starting to Shape Your Meditation Pebble with a Rasp
Using a rasp you can shape the wood by taking off the corners and rounding them.
Using Sanding Paper to Smooth the Wood
After rasping to your desired shape you use various grits of sandpaper from rough, medium and fine to create a smooth surface.
Wood Burning a Design Onto Your Pebble
Use the pyrography machine to burn a flower or another design by holding the drawing handle carefully like a pencil.
Final Step Is Oiling
Use a rag and a small amount of oil to gently polish into the wood to seal it.
