Learning to sew opens up a world of creative possibilities, and it all starts with getting comfortable behind a sewing machine. Never tried sewing before but always wondered how to? This session is perfect for you -- you'll receive expert guidance every step of the way in a relaxed, supportive environment.

What to expect:

  • Over three hours, we’ll cover the foundations of machine sewing step by step.
  • How to thread your machine, fill bobbins, adjust settings, and switch between presser feet.
  • You’ll also learn fabric and needle basics, how to backstitch and manage tension, seam allowances, finishing edges, and even buttonholes and zippers.
  • To put it all into practice, you’ll sew your own zippered pouch with a pocket and clean, finished edges; a perfect project for storing writing tools, makeup, crochet hooks, or paintbrushes.
  • The options are endless, really – who doesn’t love a wee pouch?

This workshop is all about practical skills in a relaxed, supportive space, with plenty of time to ask questions and build confidence.
