Splash Paint Workshop

Unleash creativity Join the Splash Paint Workshop and explore colourful artistic expression.

1 hour

Class size 1 to 11 (public classes), 8 to 13
  $69 (Afterpay available)

Be taken on an extraordinary adventure as you learn to experiment with various paint pouring techniques and styles to create unique, eye-catching masterpieces.
At Paint Lab, discover the endless possibilities of paint with a multitude of techniques, tricks and tools. This is a fun and expressive experience but there will be a professional artist there to guide you and show you a variety of fun and experimental ways to create marks, patterns and compositions with paint.
Pouring, throwing, splashing and dripping are just a few of the techniques used as you transform a blank canvas into a vibrant work of art.
The canvas may not dry on the day of the activity; you have up to one month to collect the artwork from our studios or we can arrange a courier to the destination, cost subject to the postcode.

Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 3 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we may cancel the session; if that happens, we'll inform you and let you choose between a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.

FAQ

Can parents watch the kids without buying a ticket?
It depends on how busy the session is. If the class isn’t fully booked (fewer than 8 ppl), you're welcome to enter the room, borrow one of our art smocks, take photos, and enjoy the creative fun up close. However, if your child needs you by their side the entire time, we recommend purchasing an extra ticket to guarantee a spot in the room. If the session is fully booked, we unfortunately won’t be able to accommodate extra people in the space.
How long does the artwork take to dry?
Drying time depends on how much paint was used. In general, artworks will dry within 24 hours in summer and up to 48 hours in winter.
What happens if paint gets on clothing?
We provide a poncho, shoes cover, etc, but art can get messy! Our paints are mostly washable, but we still recommend wearing clothes you don’t mind getting a little creative. If paint does get on your clothes, wash them as soon as possible with warm water. pls do not wear your favorite fancy outfit outside for this class.
See more FAQs
Can we take the artwork home on the same day?
No, unfortunately, the paint will be wet, if you are leaving near by you can take it home flat but not recommended.
Is the paint safe for kids?
Yes. We use non-toxic, water-based paints that are safe for children 5 years and up.
How long will you keep the painting if we can’t take it home right away?
We’ll keep your artwork safe and secure for 30 days, ready for pickup during our open hours. (tue-sat. 10-5:30pm) If you can’t make it back in time, we’re happy to arrange delivery for you (additional shipping cost applies).
what about if i can't come to pick it up- can do deliver the artwork?
if you let us know your postcode, we can arrange a courier for you, usually it's cost around 10-$30 subject to location (australia wide)

  • 5/5 from Lesley Evans, attended Sep 2026: A great activity for any age. Not often you can just free the spirit and experiment with color and technique. Grandchildren had a wonderful time.
  • 5/5 from Timfai Loh, attended Sep 2026: Zac was an amazing teacher. My son and I had so much fun using the crab!
  • 5/5 from Ruth Grant, attended Sep 2026: I took my three grandchildren (aged 11, 8, and 5) along and joined in myself, and what a fantastic experience it was! We all spent a wonderful hour immersed in creative fun and can't wait to collect our four masterpieces once they've dried over the next few days. After the session, we relaxed with a drink in the café, and the biggest compliment came from my 11-year-old grandchild, who asked, “Are you sure we can’t go back in and do it all again?” It is an enjoyable, engaging activity for all ages, and we created some special memories together. Highly recommended.
  • 4/5 from Juanita Fernando, attended Sep 2026: Great class and well run. Get there 5 minutes before, no earlier, because there is nothing at all to do. Food and drink in the cafe not aimed at children and is costly. The teacher was lovely and the children had lots of fun.
  • 5/5 from Angela Condliffe, attended Aug 2026: The workshop was fun, messy, easy and it was amazing to create art at the same time. The teacher was very east to chat with, explained everything well, encouraged us throughout the workshop with trying different colours and techniques. It was better than I expected. I would love to do it again.
  • 5/5 from Victory Grigg, attended Aug 2026: Great class, lots of fun!
  • 5/5 from Mairead McGeehan, attended Aug 2026: Went to a paint splash class with my friends and had such a fun time! It was so much fun getting creative, letting loose and just enjoying the experience. Can’t wait to pick up our finished pieces! Highly recommend for a fun and different experience.
  • 5/5 from Nathalia Bonilla, attended Aug 2026: Really fun class!
  • 5/5 from Melissa Leong, attended Aug 2026: This was a fun birthday activity my 4yo chose to do with the family, although the required minimum age is 5, the studio gladly allowed her to participate - core memory unlocked for my little girl and she has asked to come back again. Lots of colours and tools for you to go wild, there are no rules and everyone had a great time.
  • 5/5 from Karen Gill, attended Jul 2026: Teacher was great really welcoming. Loved using the fly squatter to splatter paint. It was fun.
  • 5/5 from Tracey Carlton, attended Jul 2026: We as a group. 1x adult 2x kids (one with special needs) LOVED this. When my girl splashed paint on me and the floor, thought she was going to be in trouble, however i just splashed her back, there was squeals, and laughter and huge grins to which my son turn around and flicked us both. It doesn't matter if you colour outside the lines or don't fit the mold, this class is fun and its about what you want on your canvas. Our teacher played some awesome tunes and encouraged us to do as we want. Super easy to book online too. Commication was 10/10
  • 5/5 from Margaret Matthews, attended Jul 2026: We had a great time! The teacher explained how to use all the different tools and encouraged us to experiment and try different things. Plenty of warning that the class was ending so we could finish up.
  • 5/5 from Helen Stamatopoulos, attended Jul 2026: Great experience, the staff were friendly and helpful. Loads of fun
  • 5/5 from Jill Barlow, attended Jul 2026: Zac was great. He explained carefully and was happy to help when he was asked each time. My 3 grandkids each said to give the class 10/10.
  • 5/5 from Samuel Inglis, attended Jun 2026: I loved it because there was so much paint and it was so messy. And I thought it was fun because you could do whatever I wanted with paint. It was the best birthday gift I ever had. From Leah 10 and Stella 7 ️.
  • 5/5 from Kerryn Adams, attended Jun 2026: I gave this as a present for my 7-year-old nephew. We both had so much fun doing this class. The 1 hour flew by but it didn't feel rushed. The teacher provided some general guidance at the start of the class and was available if needed during the class but it was fun that it wasn't too structured and we could do what we felt like. The only challenge is having to come back to pick up the art-work during the limited working hours that the studio is open.
