$195 - $245 (Earlybird price of $195 applies if you book into a public session 14+ days ahead) (Afterpay available)

Would you like to learn how to sew your own clothes and accessories? This is the workshop for you!
Over two weeks, you'll learn the tools and materials you'll need, how to set up a sewing machine, and how to follow a simple sewing pattern. You'll make a pair of PJ shorts, and leave with a bunch of new skills to start you on your sewing journey. Sewing machines, notions, and all tools will be provided, just bring your own cotton fabric.
Workshop outline:
  • Week 1: You'll learn how to take accurate body measurements and select the right sewing pattern size, how to prepare your fabric, and how to cut your pieces on the grainline. You'll also learn about interfacing and how to apply it. You'll set up your sewing machine, wind a bobbin and thread the machine properly, ready to sew your PJ shorts.
  • Week 2: You'll sew your PJ legs together, learn how to finish your seams with zig-zag stitch, construct a waistband, sew buttonholes for an optional draw-string, insert elastic into the waistband channel, and finish with hemming your shorts. You'll learn a bunch of new skills *and* you'll get to go home with a pair of PJ shorts perfect for hot summer nights.
This project comes with printed instructions and a paper pattern you can take home to make more PJ shorts at home.
We're looking forward to starting you on your sewing journey!
