Resin River Coffee / Hall Table Workshop

Create your own river coffee or hall table in Perth!

2.5 hours Class size 1 to 4 guests

  $825 - $1,355 ($825 for Small Table - 550mm x 400mm; $1,295 for Large Table - 1000mm x 600mm; $1,355 for Hall Table - 1200mm x 400mm)

Have you always wanted a river table... but never found one that felt like yours?
Here's the thing. You can make it yourself! And we'll show you every single step.
We're the only place in Perth where you don't just watch a river table being made. You roll up your sleeves and make your own, right here at CO Studio in Balcatta.
We've made all the mistakes, so you don't have to:
River tables look simple. They're not! Leaking moulds, bubbles, cracking, resin that overheats... we've seen it all. We'll show you exactly how to avoid every one of them, and why we do each step the way we do. This is how you do it the right way.
Nothing leaves our studio until it's right:
After your pour, your table stays with us to cure. Then we show you exactly how to sand, polish and wax it for that amazing glossy finish. WOW, it's next level!
It doesn't go home until it meets our standards and gets our tick of approval.
No shortcuts. Just a truly custom table built to last for generations.
Make it together. This is one of the best date days in Perth! Pick your timber together, choose your colours and pour your river side by side.
Every time you put your coffee down, you'll remember the day you made it.
What you'll learn:
How to choose and prepare your timber
How to build a leak-proof mould
How to mix and colour river resin properly
How to pour without bubbles or overheating
How to sand, polish and wax your table for a stunning gloss finish
Choose your table:
Small coffee table (550 x 400mm): $775
Large coffee table (1000 x 600mm): $1, 155
Hall table (1200 x 400mm): $1, 255
Every table includes local Marri timber, river cast resin and legs. No two will ever look the same.
No experience needed. Seriously! If you can stir and pour, you can do this... we promise.
Picture it: someone asks where you bought your table, and you get to say... I MADE it.
Classes are tiny (4-6 people), so spots go fast. Book now before you miss out!
By the end of your class, your tables will need to take 7 days to fully cure plus time for flattening and then for you to sand and polish, so please allow 4-6 weeks for your table to be ready. Your teacher will organise for you to pick them up from the venue on another day.
Please Note: For safety reasons, this workshop isn’t suitable during pregnancy.
Note: We use Health of Mind River Cast resin in our studio, and all wood is sustainably sourced from local wood specialists Salty Duck Woodworking, Wild Chisel & James Turner Woodwork. If you choose to bring a friend or partner, you will do your table together (not one each).

  • 5/5 from Liz Venn, attended Jul 2026: I was gifted a voucher as a retirement present, so nice to be able to make something meaningful for the occasion. Knowledgeable instructor, individualised instruction and professional results. Big loves!
  • 5/5 from Parlad Bhabra, attended Jul 2026: The class was fun and informative. We were taught important fundamentals of resin as a chemical and how it reacts, including impacts of temperature and our local environment, the need to use local products that have been prepared for Australian conditions. We then prepared the resin and made our products. I was also impressed with the creativity and artwork of the local Perth owned business. Its not just table making, there is a variety of products that are made including clocks, frames, decorations, various drinking glasses, artwork etc. I highly, recommended attending a class/classes and/or visiting the premises to view the display products.

  • 5/5 from Kylie Kinstan, attended Nov 2024: Rochelle took the class and it was fantastic as always. She took us through all the steps of making the tables including giving tips and tricks and advice for anyone who wants to make more at home. Rochelle was super accommodating of people wanting to personalise their piece and try different things, while also explaining what she has found to work well (and not so well!) over the years. We go back over a few sessions and get to learn all the steps in the process of refining and finishing our tables and I'm very excited to have a piece of furniture that I made myself!

Collective Obsessions is a creative studio and community space in Balcatta, Perth, designed for people who want to try new things, make cool stuff, and surprise themselves. We're also proud 3 x Time SBA Award winners!
What started as a love of getting hands-on with creative mediums has grown into a colourful, welcoming studio offering workshops, open studio sessions, memberships and private events. We work across a range of mediums including resin, alcohol inks, water marbling, acrylic pouring, textured art and so much more.
More than anything, Collective Obsessions is about people. Our workshops are filled with first-timers, returning guests, and our beautiful creative tribe who make the studio feel like home.
If you’ve ever said “I’m not creative”, you’re exactly who we’re for.
We’re on a mission to…
Make creativity feel accessible, fun and safe.
We believe creativity isn’t about talent or experience - it’s about giving yourself permission to play.
Our mission is to create a space where people can slow down, switch off their busy brains, connect with others, and feel proud of what they make.
Whether you’re joining us for a one-off workshop or becoming part of our creative tribe, we want you to leave feeling lighter than when you arrived.
Our top tips for beginners is…
Don’t overthink it - just start.
You don’t need any experience, skills or artistic background. We’ll teach you the techniques, guide you step-by-step, and then encourage you to make it your own. The best pieces often come from experimenting, happy accidents and trusting your instincts.
There is no “right way” to create here.
You’ll leave our workshop feeling…
Proud, relaxed and slightly obsessed.
Most people walk in feeling unsure and walk out buzzing - with something beautiful in their hands and a new appreciation for their own creativity. Many leave already planning what they want to try next.
Meet the Team:
Rochelle - Owner
Raised by a creative dad and a crafty mum, Rochelle has had art running through her veins from day one. From charcoal sketches and fashion design to photography, creativity has always been her language.
These days, Rochelle pours her energy into art, nature-inspired wood pieces, flow art, and guiding others on their creative journeys. Her passion is contagious, her encouragement endless, and her favourite moment is watching someone realise, “OMG… I made that!”
Fuelled by laughter, ocean swims, studio time, and anything chocolate, Rochelle is your biggest creative cheerleader.
Meet Mean Boss – aka Jamie
Co-Founder & Artist
Affectionately known as Mean Boss (don’t be fooled - he’s a big softie), Jamie is drawn to the quirky, the unexpected, and the beautifully imperfect.
With roots in photography and a deep respect for nature and traditional craftsmanship, Jamie’s creative journey led him into timber, then expanded into charcoal, resin, acrylics, ink, graphite, and beyond. Always experimenting, always pushing boundaries, and often breaking things along the way (the okay kind).
Back in the studio, Jamie brings relaxed vibes, big ideas, and a little mischief to everything he creates.
That’s our story and we THANK you for reading and taking an interest.
