Nuno Felting Workshop

Join artist Helen Moon to learn the art of nuno felting while creating your very own felted scarf!

2 hours Class size 6 to 8 guests       $85

Under the tutelage of experienced textile artist Helen Moon, you will get to create one beautiful silk scarf to wear or give as a gift. Over the years, Helen has explored many techniques of surface design, developing a sense for the language of colour and discovering endless possibilities in this medium.
This workshop is perfect for both beginners and those who've tried silk painting before but want to upgrade their skills with a new technique.
Helen offers insightful advice and will guide you through every step of the way, while providing you with the tools to create a truly unique and creative final product to take home.
Did you know?
Nuno felted scarves use tissue chiffon with a fine layer of merino wool and other decorative fibers. They are felted in a way that helps the wool fibers to penetrate the silk, to create texture and add warmth.
What you'll get
Your own nuno felted scarf.

  • 5/5 from Chris Chittleborough, attended Jan 2026: Absolutely worthwhile workshop. Lovely teacher and company. Highly recommend as finished nuno felted scarf so good.
  • 5/5 from Carol Lee, attended Jan 2026: I recently attended the Nuno Felting Workshop held at the Fleurieu Arthouse in Mclaren Vale. It was a small group of 5 lovely interesting women. We all listened & watched Helen our teacher instruct & demonstrate to us the art of Nuno Felting. We were then unleashed, to design & make our own nuno felted scarves. Helen gave everyone individual attention during this group process and as a result we were all rewarded with beautiful scarves & a wealth of knowledge. Thank you Helen, you lead a great workshop. An additional note, the coffee & cakes at the Arthouse were devine. Carol.
  • 5/5 from Jill Eldridge, attended Jan 2026: I really enjoyed this class and was thrilled with my finished scarf. Helen was very friendly and helpful. She gave us clearing instructions and then roamed around and gave us further help when needed. She took us through every step giving clear instructions. She had a very caring nature and put any anxiety to rest. I would highly recommend this class.
