In this relaxed, playful workshop, you’ll design and make your own wind chime or hanging mobile, choosing the materials, shapes, and colours that speak to you. We’ll provide you with templates for various shapes and demonstrate simple build techniques. Once you’re confident with the basics, we’ll explore together how materials, textures, and forms can be combined to create something uniquely yours.
You might create a wind chime, incorporating bells, clay elements, beads, wood, textiles, and other decorative pieces, or a mobile, building a simple hanging structure and filling it with your own hand-painted, cut, or crafted shapes.
You’ll be encouraged to experiment with balance, movement, texture, sound, and composition as you build.
Whether you want something delicate and whimsical, bold and sculptural, earthy and natural, or wonderfully strange, this is a chance to make something that is completely your own.
No previous experience is needed; just come ready to play, experiment, and make something that hangs, swings, spins, or sings.
What you’ll take home:
Your own handmade wind chime or mobile, ready to hang in your home, studio, garden, or wherever you’d like to add a little movement and personality.
