Introduction to clay chat

Introduction to Clay Chat

We will go through the process of turning pottery into ceramics, along with hand building techniques required to make your piece a success.

Get started and make your creation

Get Started and Make Your Creation

It's pretty exciting to turn a block of clay into your creation. Discover the challenging yet rewarding process!

Take home your piece or come back to studio

Take Home Your Piece or Come Back to Studio

Once you have created your piece, we will help you take some fun photos with your phone of your creations.

You can take your piece home as an air-dry piece (we have tubs, large trays and carry bags!) or we do have a kiln firing service and glazing option, which takes approx 3-4 weeks (extra cost). We also have the option to paint with under glaze same day for kiln firing, we will then glaze it for you, and put through for second glaze firing. Similar to the make paint and glaze class option.

Note everyone makes something different and is not highly structured like the throwing wheel sessions.
All materials are included, and you’ll leave with your own handmade creation on the day.

Providing social art classes in beautiful South Brisbane

4.7 (2,486)

I'm a Brisbane-based artist, and I've been painting and drawing since my early childhood days. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the Queensland Art Gallery, which gave me ample opportunity to pursue my passion and hone my skills.
I'm very much inspired by the beauty and diversity of Australia. Many of my paintings focus on landscapes, surrealism, animals, and people. North Queensland is a particular favorite, and you'll see the influence of coral seas and mountain landscapes throughout my artwork. I have a post-impressionist style through which I try to capture the wonder of the world around us.
I specialize in pastel on card and acrylic on canvas, though I'm also experimenting with abstract and airbrush.
I've been fortunate enough to display my work in many art exhibitions and have been the recipient of many prizes and awards.
I offer Paint and Sip sessions along with Clay and Sip sessions, both at discounted rates for ClassBento Patrons. I believe in bringing these experiences to the customer at the very best competitive price possible, the real Australian Way. We have the largest range of paintings available with over 80 paintings on the gallery page of Wesley Taylor Art Studios, with the painting for each week found on the web page.
We hope you enjoy these sessions for a fun experience. The paintings are creative for maximum impact of colors, while keeping in mind first-time painting experiences. Those with a little more practice will create some amazing pieces.
Let us plan your special events!
“Everyone has an artistic flair and simply needs to be pointed in the right direction."
The Wesley Taylor Art Studios Mission initially set out to create workshops at half the cost of other workshops for customers to be able to enjoy the experience of creating a piece of artwork. This endeavor was to create the foundation of employing artists with a like-minded sense of assisting customers to enjoy this time out while creating new art experiences. The goals of value for money for customers and employment for artists to run these fun activities that may mark a milestone, a birthday, a hen's party, a social activity, a first date, or company team-building events to build and strengthen relationships with a common bond of creating something new.
