Closed Rainforest Terrarium Class

Learn how to build a beautiful large jar terrarium with it's own biosphere

2 hours Class size 1 to 12 (public classes), 4 to 15

$148 (Afterpay available)
Create your own impressively tall, closed terrarium that is made to last. Learn the secrets of successful, closed terrariums in this workshop from Charlene, owner of Fleurieu Gifts and Botanista, Adelaide's only dedicated terrarium store.
Charlene will guide you through creating an attractive hardscape, using your choice of hardwood driftwood or decorative rock, inside a 31cm tall jar.
All materials are included, including glassware, planting materials, rocks, driftwood, springtails and, of course, plants. Each jar has a clear acrylic lid to enclose your terrarium.
You will learn about the importance of a bio-active terrarium and receive your own tub of springtails to use in your creation. These handy insects will help to keep your terrarium clean and clear of mildew.
You will also learn how closed terrariums differ in materials used, choice of plants, as well as care and maintenance, compared to an open terrarium.
This workshop is loaded with tips and tricks, troubleshooting and terrarium know-how. The terrarium you create and take home will be a show stopper, full of plants and character!
