He has taught at technical college with all the latest high tech equipment, but what he offers now is "A Guiding Hand". Derek will come to you and bake in the comfort and familiarity of your own home kitchen, with all that is required is some bench space and a working oven. Ultimately this is where you are going to be continuing your baking adventure.
Derek's classes are ideal for one-on-one coaching or perfect for partners or a couple of friends.

What a brilliant day!
Derek was amazing. His knowledge, passion and enthusiasm was out of this world.
He happily answered any question, was well prepared and the recipes were delicious.
We can’t wait to make the stout bread again and the tips and tricks be taught us we have already implemented in our own bread making.

Such a great day with Derek, he is a talented bake with so much knowledge to share.
He created a casual and fun atmosphere and really helped demystify making bread. The skills we learnt in just an afternoon would have taken years of trial and error to gain on our own, it was worth every cent!
He left us with everything we needed to kickstart a successful baking journey and it was particularly good to use our own kitchen and oven to help repeat the same steps again and again. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic time. Derek was a great teacher and we had a wonderful Valentine's Day celebration at home because of this unique and lovely experience! The breads we made were all amazing and we even brought some to our office!
We were accidentally double charged and Derek brought it to our attention. Thanks Derek for your honesty and professionalism!

We had a great day with Derek learning how to make bread. The class was in our house but Derek provided everything required (other than the oven).
We got to make two doughs. A fruit dough which was made into cinnamon scrolls, and a stout dough which was eventually divided in half to name two loaves, one plain, and the other flavoured with onion. I was a little worried the onion might overpower the bread but it worked a treat, with a sweet onion flavour throughout the whole loaf. Not at all too strong.
Derek is a relaxed easy going person with lots of bread and bakery related stories to tell. We learned a lot about bread making, and many easy tips to ensure consistent and quality future bakes.
A great day with delicious results.

Derek was relaxed and informative, showing patiently how to make the most scrumptious wholemeal stout bread, fruit loaf and cinnamon buns. He brought all the equipment so we could do it in the comfort of my own kitchen. Not sure if I will have the patience to do it again on my own, but I have the recipes if I ever decide to try. Highly recommend.

Very enjoyable day's work and play. The instructor Derek arrived on time, bringing all the necessary equipment and ingredients - he also brought lots of valuable experience, a lively interest in breadmaking generally, and heaps of knowledge. He was very easy to understand, and to work with and most importantly the outcome is really good. I learnt a lot more than I knew before.
