This special workshop is designed for perfect family fun at a special one-day event, "Big Japanese Market, " to be held at the Crows Nest Community Centre. It offers a hands-on experience in the world of Japanese-themed events, inspired by Japanese food sample-making techniques.
In this interactive session, participants will challenge themselves by making fake desserts using air-dry clay in a small group setting—perfect for beginners and children with little or no experience in dessert making or crafting. They’ll discover how to:
  • Knead and mix foam clay to achieve the colours they desire
  • Shape and assemble pieces into food designs of their choice
  • Bring their creations into a beautiful glass as a completed artwork
The best part? You can explore the fun-filled event before and after the workshop. The event showcases handmade craft shops, other creative and art workshops, self-care treatments, handcrafted Japanese food and sweets, Japanese learning, and many more! (See posters attached)
What to Expect:
  • Each participant will choose 2-3 theme colours and be asked to shape them
  • Apply effect to make your creations look closer to real food
  • Whip fake cream using a piping bag
  • Model 3 toppings freehand with full guidance
  • Layout and fill the dessert glass as you wish and finish as a memo clip stand
By the end of the session, you or your child will take home a fake dessert glass, one in the world to show off to family and friends!
Only 2 sessions are available—book now and let your child unleash their creativity in this fun-filled, sugar-sweet experience!

Welcome to Minime on the Cake's Sugar & Clay Figure Workshop.
Hi my name is Rie, call me Leah (It's a Japanese name but pronounces exactly like Leah) Over a decade ago, I started creating custom-made, look-alike fondant figurines for special occasions. These fully edible, personalized cake toppers not only added a magical touch to cakes but also filled the air with a delightful sweet aroma—captivating customers and making them an instant hit!
As demand grew, many customers wished to preserve their figurines as keepsakes. To make that possible, we introduced polymer clay, allowing these cherished miniatures to last forever.
After years of trial, refinement, and perfecting our techniques, we’re now ready to share our expert skills, special tools, and the best materials with you—so you, too, can create stunning figurines for your own special occasions!
Choose Your Crafting Medium:
