5.0 (65)I wanted to be an artist practically all my life but had lived a very logic brained existence as a BAS Agent/Bookkeeper amongst other similar roles. I ran my own business for sixteen years but lock downs (in Melbourne) created a very different work life for me. I worked harder than ever, because I became a key support for my clients through all the ups and downs of Government assistance. It actually wore me out. BUT, I discovered the Zentangle® Method early on in 2021 and became obsessed.
I had no formal art training, knew nothing of media or styles and to be honest, I didn't really think I had any talent. I could draw a pretty good doodle tree but that was it. Then one day when I was learning how to do bullet journalling, I stumbled on Zentangle and instantly fell in love. Here was a drawing method I could follow, easily, and wow! I actually created art. I had finally found something that satisfied my creative need and also helped me keep my cool while we battled the Covid phenomenon.
I was so inspired by the community I became part of I headed off to Newport, Rhode Island in 2023 to become qualified to teach this method. Now I am a Certified Zentangle® Teacher who is very excited to share this incredible art form and method with anyone who will sit still long enough with me to learn.

Another brilliant class with Heidi, you start with a simple white tile, a black pen and then the magic begins, then with a few tangles taught by a fantastic teacher you can create an amazing picture.

Enjoyed Heidi's other classes so much I wanted to try them all, this one is great for doing cards etc for those who like flowers or for yourself and works with any colours, as seen in the photos I'm still working on mine, that is the advantage of tangles you can do a basic outline and then finish later.

A fun relaxing night with Heidi as always. First Heidi guided our small group through the drawing of two different Christmas trees and both a male and female gnome. Then we had a chance to produce our own Christmas themed tile. We were so engaged we ran overtime! That’s when you know you’ve detangled with Heidi and her Zentangle class. Have a lovely holidays season and I hope to join some class in 2024.

This beginners class was brilliant even more so because its recorded so it has the added bonus of being able to do it anytime I want to & one can stop the recording anytime to catch up or to go back over and check something. It’s a great class for everyone even people who have done Zentangles before as it’s very relaxing. Heidi is a wonderful teacher who explains everything so well. Can’t wait for more to come out.

Great class tonight, learnt two new tangles that can be as easy or as difficult as you want it to be. Everyone in the class are sooo nice. It's very relaxed and suitable for everyone of all skills. Heidi is lovely with good ideas on how to do different things with the tangles.

Thanks Heidi, another great fun unwinding session with you. It was good to run through the tangle first in my sketchbook because Hanamar was a bit tricky. I feel the second attempt was better. Bambooz tangle is fun and of course I had to make it a bit unique, as I love Mooka. Thanks and see you soon !

I had a great time doing the Seashore class with Heidi. I am new to Zentangle and Heidi was a patient teacher. I almost completed two projects but was able to complete them independently after the class. Thanks Heidi.

This was a hard class and not easy to follow but if you have a good eye for colour and a quick hand then most can do it. I couldn't. It is something different which is always interesting.

A fabulous class learning how to create gem like patterns. Lines became jewels, with lots of depth of colour. Challenging yet relaxing, with the calm presence of Heidi. Thoroughly recommend this at the end of a busy week.

This is my second class, and it was more fun than the first one, so much so that I have already booked the next 3 classes and plan to make it a regular thing. Everyone is sooo very nice and with a most excellent teacher who shows you how to do the different tangles step by step into a very pretty piece of art.

A good evening class starting with some new tangles and practice on scrap paper before stating the tile. Great for the experienced Zentangles and good for a beginner like me. I enjoyed the challenge although my final tangle looked nothing like Heidi’s. Thank you for a relaxing Friday evening class to destress and untangle from a busy week.

Heidi was an excellent teacher. She explained each Zentangle pattern and reminded us to relax and breathe. Today we focused on creating two tiles representing the sea. It was just amaaaaaazing! A fantastic two hour workshop with Heidi. We explored many different Zentangle patterns, including a thorough overview of each pattern and how to shade. Heidi is a calm and patient teacher who promoted the importance of relaxation and a meditative state whilst Zentangling. Cannot wait for the next class. Fantastic
