Through the Junkadelic Arts Collective, we are extremely passionate about bringing art, music and creative skill-building to all corners of Australia, with residences at the Salvage Katherine Festival of Junk Arts (NT, 2014), and Gascoyne in May Festival (WA, 2013) also highlights. Notable workshops include Kununurra NAIDOC Week (2018), Yalgoo Emu Cup (2013, 2015-17, 2019), and Kalamunda's Zig Zag Festival (2015-16, 2018, 2019).

The Junkadelic Brass Band was founded in 2002, and was simply known as Junkadelic; a junk percussion group that performed at environmental street actions and social justice events, as well as other activist causes. The group's first gig was the World Environment Day in Forrest Place (Perth CBD) in 2002.

Junkadelic added a horn section in 2010 to become the stage-based funk band, the Junkadelic Brass Band, as it's known as today.

In addition to music workshops, we also teach people how to make sculptures using junk.

Finally - we also provide cartooning workshops.

Ken is a great cartoonist and an easy guy to get along with. I picked up some great tricks & tips to help me develop my skills.

We opted for a 1:1 at home session. Ken was punctual, very fun, knowledgeable, patient and kind. He was good at identifying my daughter's current skill and working from there to fill in the gaps in her knowledge. The materials used were suited to the session, topics covered matched her areas of interest, and it was a nice surprise that the art he created himself as he demonstrated were ours to keep.

We had a one-on-one session with my 10-year-old and it was great. Ken was passionate about drawing and kept my son engrossed for the whole time. We had the session at our home which was very convenient. This class would suit all ages, anyone with an interest in drawing, wanting to learn a range of techniques that can be used as you develop your own style.

My Son and I were so enthralled that we hardly noticed the time go by. This was a great workshop, all the materials were provided. We learnt how to draw cartoon faces, different techniques of structuring characters and shading. We both highly recommend experiencing this class.

A teacher with exceptional skill and boundless patience brings hope and some practical techniques to those of us with less natural talent. Thank you, it was a rewarding lesson.

Ken was very nice and encouraging and it was good having him come to our place,
and bringing all the materials.
We learned how to draw the basic layout of the human body and faces with emotions. We also learned how to do inking, crosshatching, and seven other techniques that we had never done before.
We really loved the class and hope to do another one soon.
Thank you from
Alice and Ruth.

Teacher was great - patient and knowledgeable with two ten year olds to teach. It was great that he came to us; he brought all the necessary equipment and the two 10 year olds really enjoyed it (they reviewed it as good - it sounded great to me). I thought it was good value for money because the cost was equivalent to them doing the same sort of workshop in a group class.

Would definitely book again.

Loved the class and the convenience of the teacher attending our home to teach us. We learnt lots about expressions and emotions in drawing and the family had a great time.
