I am a printmaker based in Melbournes North East. I've been passionate about printmaking since I first studied it in 2002. My studio, Hazy Bubble Studio, is located in Kew East.

I've produced prints in just about every form of printmaking from lithography to aquatint, to monoprint, and all things in between.

I currently have a small press and my studio is spacious enough to host small, focused groups.

The teacher was very knowledgeable on the activity and prepared all the materials needed for the class to be a fun and engaging one. The class was very worth the price since we had lots of fun and got to bring home 4 prints. The teacher was also very kind and amazing to talk to.

This was a fantastic class, all materials were provided and the teacher, Kaya, brought a lot of experience to provide thoughtful advice, help and guidance, and wasn't afraid to experiment. A really enjoyable day, I learnt a lot about multi-plate printing and different colour techniques and I was very happy with the final print. Thanks Kaya!

Kaya is super knowledgable and helpful. Learnt heaps. I am so happy with the work I created. Thanks for a wonderful day, Kaya.

Danielle Kwan Mar 2024

Kaya guided us through an enjoyable afternoon of etching our acetate plates and making a small run of prints. She kept it simple, which was perfect for a group of very fresh beginners like ourselves, and provided great materials for our purposes.

Jeffery Richard Taylor Mar 2024

Lovely manner accomodating young 10 year old and much older altogether in this workshop. The end product is amazing and Kaya helps to go further should you wish.

Catherine Berryman Feb 2024

I went with a friend and we really enjoyed it. Was a little suprised that the studio was actually just a small room in the instructors house and it was a bit cramped, but it was fine. We made some nice linocuts (only one per person) - it was a bit trickier than expected, but enjoyable, even for folks like me who are limited in their artistic ability. My tip for beginners is to keep it simple! It was a good activity though, and I'd recommend it.

Summah Hemming Feb 2024

Lovely class! Super well-organised with lots of attention, information and tips from Kaya! Linocut is a super cool art form - try it, you’ll be surprised how well your work will turn out!

Tessa Connell Oct 2023

I absolutely loved this class! Our teacher was incredibly kind and patient and gave us great advice both about the work we were completing as well as where to take our skills into the future. I loved that the class size is small (4 people) it meant lots of 1 on 1 teaching and I really felt I got a lot out of the class.

It was a fantastic value for money experience as I walked away with 4 high quality prints of my own and the knowledge of how to create more at home. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Osvaldo Oct 2023

Kaya was excellent in explaining the Drypoint etching technique and gave great advice and pointers whilst I was doing the etching. Very good to do the four prints on the water colour paper and excitement with how much ink left on the plate to see the different prints from these. A very enjoyable experience that I would recommend to anyone.

Throughly enjoyed it. We'll set up and timing is just right. Kaya takes through how to do it slowly and gives you type and tricks asking the way about what works well and what doesn't, etc. Fantastic equipment and a lovely gentle atmosphere. Kaya also tells you how to sign it after it dries according to printer etiquette and how to adapt for home and where to get the things you need of you're interested in doing more. I'd go again.

I truly enjoyed my time with Kaya. She explained the materials and process well, and gave good advice for how to choose which lines/space to cut or leave solid. She made linocutting approachable as a home hobby and showed how it could also be a fine art. I look forward to doing more :)

I had a great time in the session.

The workshop was informative and casual. Advice and tips, and practical examples were given along with a lot of hands-on practice. There were plenty of high-quality of equipment and tools available to do what we needed and try some different options.

Kaya is a patient instructor with a lot of experience and skills that she is happy to share.

I was really happy with what I went away with at the end of the 3hrs and I think I've found a great new hobby to pursue.

Did this class with my partner and we both enjoyed learning something new in a calm, relaxed environment. Kaya explained and demonstrated things clearly and even though I chose an intricate design (beginners!) there was plenty of time to carve and print it and learn about the process. We're both now thinking of other designs we could try Thanks Kaya!

This was the first art class I have been to since leaving school some 30 yrs ago. I really enjoyed myself. As it was something that I had not done before I would have enjoyed a little more instruction on technique and maybe some background on the history of linocut, how it could be used, some names and examples of well known works on display. The chance to print in a variety of colours or a variation of our print in some way might be fun. Not just 4 in the same colour. I found it difficult to see with the light at times. Thank you Kaya and good luck with your classes
