If you're looking for exciting new things to do in Perth with kids, why not help them explore their creativity and learn about leathercraft at this fun, hands-on workshop?

Led by friendly teacher Andrew, kids will learn a selection of brilliant arts and crafts skills over two hours as they create a leather wristband and decorate it using craft stamps.

Andrew will guide kids step-by-step through the process of burnishing and stamping leather, building a leather strap, and making a wristband from scratch. This class is a brilliant chance to get them away from the screens for a fun journey into leatherworking!

At the end of this Perth class, little ones will have nearly all the skills they need to make their own belt and a neat leather wristband to show for it.

Please note: all children are required to be signed in and out by the parent or authorised representative, and leave their contact details. The teacher will supervise until pick up.

Andrew, an avid re-enactor and LARPer, is the proprietor of Western Leathercraft. With a lifelong passion for art, primarily illustration, Andrew’s interest in leathercraft began after joining a local Perth medieval club (The Society for Creative Anachronism) in 1989. He moved beyond making leather belts and decorative armour when in 2010 he bought the craft shop, Western Leathercraft, which was then based in East Perth.

Andrew began hand-crafting leather items to sell in the shop and at market stalls, trading skills with a wide range of local leather crafters, and attending conferences to improve his skills. Teaching Leathercraft since 2017, he is currently completing a Master of Teaching at Murdoch University.
