Learn how to create a beautiful vanilla butter cake decorated with ombre meringue buttercream, in this fun and relaxing cake decorating class at Strathnairn Arts Association in Holt!

In this beginner-friendly class, you will learn how to cut and buttercream a cake smoothly and create an ombre effect. You will learn basic buttercream skills such as colouring buttercream with gel colours, filling a piping bag and piping simple decorations.

You will also decorate with meringues and chocolate decorations to add the finishing touch to your cake!

At the end of this hands-on class, you will leave with your gorgeous ombre buttercream cake, which you can proudly show off (and enjoy) with your friends and family, or gift to a loved one for a special occasion.

Knowledge required
Suitable for absolute beginners!

This class is suitable for people 12 years old and over. Adult accompaniment is not required; if parents wish to remain in the classroom with their child, an additional class place must be purchased.
What you'll get
You will take home your beautiful creation, along with step by step notes and recipes so that you can recreate your cake at home!
What to bring
No need to bring anything with you. Everything is provided including cakes, buttercream, boxes, equipment, aprons, etc. Attendees should wear closed toed-shoes and tie long hair back.

Lesley is the owner and operator of For Heaven's Cake, based in Coogee. Although working in finance for much of her professional life, Lesley had always had a passion for baking. Fifteen years ago she decided to take the plunge and change careers, training in Baking and Pastry at Sydney TAFE. Whilst attending this course, Lesley discovered a love of cake decorating, which led to her starting her own business producing celebration cakes, cupcakes and cookies.
