It is easy to love Middle Eastern food. Creamy hummus, tasty falafel and smoky baba ganosh, but have you ever wondered what secrets are woven into the dishes made with our beloved Tetta’s (Grandmother’s) delicate recipes?

Join award-winning singer and storyteller, Aseel Tayah with her passion for the art of sharing food and entwining stories and songs in this sumptuous live streaming cooking class.

Aseel’s cooking classes give to participants the gift of connection to the Middle East through food and song in a truly unique experience that will fill your kitchen with love and recipes that will be cherished for years to come.

Aseel’s classes are also an ideal experience for organisations looking to bring team members together in an inclusive and relaxing online learning environment.

On the menu:

  • Starter: Smoky Baba Ghanosh dip - a delicious Middle Eastern dip of eggplant, pomegranate molasses and sumac. To eat with Peta bread as a starter.
  • Salad: Fattosh - This tangy salad is one of the Middle East's greatest contributions to world culture. Crispy lettuce, crunchy fried squares of pita, such an amazing dish to share.
  • Main: Mujaddara- Comfort food favourite. Lentils and rice are cooked together with a combination of spices that includes a heavy dose of cumin, topped off with crispy, fried onions, which provide the perfect crunchy contrast to the soft rice and lentil blend.

We had a team-building virtual cooking session with Aseel and it was a delight to be able to experience authentic Middle Eastern food from our own kitchens! The ingredient boxes arrived via express post (make sure you check your mailbox!). We got the shopping list of fresh ingredients closer to the scheduled cooking day.

Aseel was a great host and answered all of our questions during the cooking session and is responsive over WhatsApp and email. We had a great time cooking and the food turned out to be quite refreshing!

We had a lot of fun and made some delicious food! A great family activity that we could do together even though we were all locked down in separate parts of the country. Thankyou Aseel.

Aseel was a delight and so easy to work with. She was so patient with the 16 of us having different speeds of cooking. The food was delicious and we completed all 3 dishes within the 2 hours, amazing. We loved the music that was played throughout and hearing about Aseel's humanitarian projects, you are an inspiration.
