Modern Henna Workshop

Learn the basics of beautiful body art using henna

1.5 hours Location Port Noarlunga Class size 6 to 13 guests   $49

Looking for relaxing Port Noarlunga activities? Learn the basics of the beautiful body art created with henna tattoos at this modern henna workshop.
This workshop is hosted by henna artist, Lisa Ash. Lisa will introduce you to the culturally rich world of henna art. Find out a little about the history of henna, how it all began and where. Then be introduced to the modern art of henna tattooing and contemporary designs.
What you'll learn:
  • How to use henna safely
  • How to hold and apply henna properly
  • Different henna brands - what to buy and what not to buy
  • How to trace designs and how to create your own beautiful designs
  • Lisa will even discuss ways you can make money through henna art
You will have the opportunity to practice applying henna yourself - creating your own designs based on what you've learned and receive a henna design by Lisa on the day!
This is a very...ahem... 'hands-on' workshop that will leave you feeling confident moving forward with henna art.
Extra henna will be available to purchase at the end of the workshop if you wish.
Important safety note:
A spot test will be done at the beginning of the class to check for skin irritation - however, if you have a history of skin allergies or highly sensitive skin, this may not be the best workshop for you.
What you'll get
  • All materials are included in this workshop.
  • You will also receive a henna artist kit valued at $25 to use on the day and take home for practice.

  • 5/5 from Rachel Bicknell, attended Jan 2025: This was a fantastic class for me 47yo and my 11yo daughter. Great teacher, lovely venue and atmosphere
  • 5/5 from Lorraine Jones, attended Jan 2025: Lisa was excellent and I was interested in the designs mostly. The practise exercises were easy and gave me confidence handling the cones of henna. I had no idea what design I wanted to do. So I drew lines along my veins. Added loops and dots. And accidentally created a leafy sea dragon. So I'm very happy about that! I don't particularly love my laptop, but using my gift card was easy. I will do another Bento class.
