What you'll do
Learn to create a stunning piece of art using a variety of preserved mosses, flowers, and decorative wood. Guided by Charlene from Botanista, you will have the opportunity to let your creativity flow and bring nature's beauty to life.
During the class, you will be working with a square, deep box frame, measuring approximately 26cm x 26cm, which will showcase your artwork in all its glory. You can choose between a white frame or a natural light timber look, allowing you to personalise your creation.
Throughout the class, you will be working with preserved mosses in a large variety of types and colours, with the choice of adding preserved flowers and foliage, as well as a decorative piece of spider wood, giving you a unique and natural palette to work with. The combination of textures and colours will allow you to create depth and dimension in your artwork, capturing the essence of the great outdoors.
At the end of the class, you will have a stunning piece of art to take home and display proudly. Your nature-inspired creation will serve as a reminder of the beauty of the natural world and your own creativity. Whether you choose to hang it on a wall or place it on a shelf, it will be a beautiful addition to any space.

Your teacher
Botanista is a creative space in Port Noarlunga that melds workshops, South Australia's only Terrarium Bar and a beautiful shopfront filled with plants, terrariums and a dash of magic.
Owner of Botanista, Charlene Maney, opened Botanista in 2018 with a passion for plants, making gardening fun and bringing the community together.
Charlene has been an educator for over 20 years. Her experiences include teaching and overseeing the Indonesian language department in Canberra for the Department of Defence; and overseeing teaching staff as well as teaching several courses herself at the Worker's Education Association of South Australia.
Previous to opening Botanista, Charlene had been running her award-winning online store, Fleurieu Gifts and teaching botanical workshops since 2014. Many of the workshops held at Botanista have been running continuously since the early days of Fleurieu Gifts in 2014.
